  1. If the rate is ASK, I've been inclined to pass. However a favorite provider recently updated his profile rate to ASK, though he didn't change his rates. He gives a top rate, skilled massage service and is a sweet guy. I may think twice from now on before deciding to pass on profiles with an ASK rate.
  2. Taylor Swift is worth a mere $400,000,000 while Jeff Bezos new yacht cost $500,000,000. So Swiftonomics may not be all that we are conjuring in our head. That said, if the paycheck to paycheck crowd in here can afford to hire escorts, imagine the trophy hires available to folks with big money.
  3. I got a special 5.10% rate at my credit union 3 months ago, for new money. Was hoping they would come back with another special, but no. Your 5.25% at 24 months looks nice.
  4. My credit union best CD rate just dropped from 4.5 to 3.5%. Surprised me. But doesn't matter, I just locked in 4.75% at Citibank. The concierge banker at the local branch was a young hot latino dude which was a bonus. More importantly he was extremely helpful, professional and polite.
  5. He mentioned he'd be moving to another apartment so might have been in between availability. I don't rely on RM emails. I texted him directly. He was responsive.
  6. I scheduled Joe today. Had the Thai combo. Nice guy. 👍
  7. I tried booking him but not successful setting anything up when he advertised visiting Laguna Beach. I'd guess he has plenty of clients already but to be fair, does it really matter the reason it did not work out? Yes it can be disappointing, but people might want to chill out.
  8. Did you book an appointment? Which masseur?
  9. I read Time Out's 3 star review of Brokeback Mountain, now playing in London's West End. That Mike Faist and Lucas Hedges are cast as Jack and Ennis is enough for me to look past middling reviews. Would love to see their stage performance. I expect I would enjoy it enough to overlook any complaints by the tortured theater queens. But chances are I'll not have the pleasure. Runs until mid August. from Belfast Telegraph article Time Out 3 star review
  10. Has anyone tried Billy? He's there tomorrow and Saturday.
  11. The Kite Runner. I listened to the audiobook. Although an immensely popular book, I found myself getting impatient and even angry with the author. I just could not understand how the main character Amir allowed himself to behave in so many despicable ways. Afghanistan is a culture I would not want to live under. I could not bring myself to empathize where the author probably expected the reader to. It felt manipulative and melodramatic. If not for the sweet and noble Hassan I would not have kept on.
  12. I didn't want the thread polluted with your nonsense. It worked for my purposes. Just because you were a doctor is not that important. Many do not consider you such an authority you expect we might.
  13. 1. Last of the Wine (Spoiler) How Alexias realizes a dead soldier being carried away was his lover Lysis. Devastating, poignant writing. Before battle, Lysis was worried one of Alexias sandals needed repair. Though the dead body being carried was covered, "the feet were showing beneath the cloak and one of the sandals was mended." The reader then knows Lysis must have traded sandals with his young love Alexias, and had died in battle. 2. A Boy's Own Story It begins with a late night boat ride with his dad on the lake in Michigan. Hemingway-like. There were other memorable scenes, e.g. Stonewall, in the Edmund Trilogy but this is the one I think of. 3. Giovanni's Room Near the beginning. It's morning. David and Joey are naked, in bed. David watches beautiful young, innocent Joey sleeping. David gets up and leaves. I always think how the sweet Joey had dodged a bullet, to be rid of David.
  14. I just finished Young Mungo. Fun fact for those that read it. +++++++++++++++++++++++ The hairdressing student Young Mungo met outside the pawn shop was Shuggie Bain. You can Google that. A24 is working a TV series Young Mungo. The two books share similarities. Young Mungo is well written IMO. I enjoyed it more.
  15. I returned on time for the 2nd dose today, even though I did have the smallpox vaccine in the past. Weighing the input from this thread and other available information, getting a 2nd dose made the most sense for me. Plus, there was this hot young latino doctor in form fitting scrubs working today. Nice view. Sigh! I recommend that clinic. 😁
  16. 3 providers I was glad to get away from. 1. Conspiracy theories. Just plain weird. 2. Stopped half way and went in the other room to play video games. 3. Explained his addictions and that his boyfriend beat him.
  17. I snagged a 15 mo. CD @ 5.10 APY a month ago. Was a special rate for new money at my credit union. Now their best is 12 mo. @ 4.25 APY.
  18. Without a "need to know" it doesn't matter what your clearance. You don't receive permission. So the OP made a valid point, how this guy accessed a wide variety of critical top secret classified information. Seems silly. Can his security officer that controls access justify this kid's "need" too see what he took?
  19. He was going home for a visit and the conversation revealed he was Pashtun. Handsome!
  20. I visited MOCA on Grand in LA yesterday, their exhibition "Henry Taylor: B Side" I was moved. So glad I got to see it. From their Website: Surveying thirty years of Henry Taylor’s work in painting, drawing, sculpture, and installation, this retrospective celebrates a Los Angeles artist widely appreciated for his unique aesthetic, social vision, and freewheeling experimentation. Just down the street, "Jean-Michel Basquiat: King Pleasure" exhibition is open. Rarely shown works presented by the family of Jean-Michel Basquiat Planning to get tickets!
