This same gentleman posted again, this time an instant coffee technique. He uses frozen blackberries, all from his garden. My freezer is full of frozen pomegranate. Perhaps I'll toss some in next time I make instant coffee.

Investment/financial advice for total newbie
TonyDown replied to Wolfer's topic in Personal Finance & Investing
There are good books on investing if interested in doing some reading. The Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham, is one. I found the following guidance by searching on GOOGLE. Defining your investing risk tolerance involves evaluating both your emotional willingness and financial ability to endure market declines for potential higher returns. It is determined by assessing your time horizon, financial goals, and personality, generally falling into conservative (low risk), moderate, or aggressive (high risk) categories. I also searched for the top financial advisors in London. It seems there is no shortage!! So depending on where you are, you might start your own search. Many folks go it alone. However, in my experience, a financial advisor has kept me from driving off the road. That said, I agree with the above comment, to be careful who you chose. -
I admit there were rounds where it was difficult to keep a straight face! Yes, I remember Balderdash!

In my experience the masseur/ therapist collects the amount at the front desk when you leave. Include the fee together with generous tip.🥰 Avoid wondering over towards the bowl of candy by the exit if you don't want to create any alarm you may be trying to skate without paying. 😅

My family played a game called Dictionary. Whoever turn it is chooses an obscure word from the dictionary, and writes down the definition. Everyone else makes up a fake definition, writes on a piece of paper. All definitions are read aloud by who's turn it is. Then each player chooses the definition they believe to be the actual definition. It can be fun. Bridge was huge in my mom's day. I used to belong to a Trivial Pursuit club. That was fun.

Hot New (Gay) Hockey Series on CRAVE: Heated Rivalry
TonyDown replied to dutchal's topic in TV and Streaming services
I heard on our local PRIDE FM radio station we may get a bonus episode of Heated Rivalry prior to S2. Checking the Internet today, there seems to be some truth to the story. At least it has been picked up by entertainment news, such as this piece from Out. https://www.out.com/gay-tv-shows/heated-rivalry-season-2-bonus-episode Image from Out. Didn't Dr. Who used to do a bonus Christmas episodes? That would be cool. A Heated Rivalry Christmas. 💗 -

Fun video of Hudson and Connor. -
Image from my NYT subscription, https://www.nytimes.com/2026/01/30/arts/television/catherine-ohara-dead.html Today, my buddy related a story about her, many years ago, waiting outside a restaurant in the valet line. Sweet and lovely energy.

It's a German owner, right? Are other Website like that? e.g. If someone in the UK has an Amazon wish list, does that require to attached your Tax ID # to support a wish list item? -
I saw Izzard's Hamlet tonight at The Montalban in Hollywood. There are two shows remaining and then a bunch of shows in Austin, Philadelphia, D.C. and Toronto. Then he's taking it to Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore. I am a big fan and also enjoy Shakespeare so it was a good fit for me. I loved the show. I love Eddie Izzard.💗 (Yeah I know another thread announced Izzard goes by Suzy. Sometimes Izzard is in girl mode, sometimes boy mode, he says.)

Booked a session this week. Will repeat. Someone on the board said he has skills. True! Great therapy. Reasonable rate. Nice space. https://www.masseurfinder.com/massage-therapists/41469/

That's wild. Like if an Aussie team beat Canada in curling, eh?

I streamed The Smashing Machine. Was the most viewed movie today on HBOmax, so it is drawing some interest. IMO it's a well done movie. Great cast. Interesting, international story. The violence tended to be graphic. The movie is a biographical sports drama about MMA fighter Mark Kerr, now retired. MMA fighting is not a sport I have followed closely, although I am aware how some coworkers have talked about matches they viewed on TV. I wouldn't watch it again, but kudos to how well done.

I kept asking myself why the film seemed to pander so blatantly and, for many, so offensively. Like the video above said. "No nuance." By the end I didn't care, nor understand how the story seemed to go off the rails. Such a great cast though. I expect it sounded good on paper. They tried. 👍

I watched it again tonight. I was in a better frame of mind. Good movie! Glad I gave it a 2nd chance. The film is very long and has a lot of violence. Lot of characters. I especially liked Benicio del Toro. I recommend paying close attention to all the plot points. I had to do an Internet search a couple of times to confirm how an outcome was possible. Also, remember Pike from Big Eden? Eric Zweig has a minor role but an important one.

Maybe I'm the last to know, but you can stream movies for free, with commercials, on YouTube's Movies and TV channel. Today I watched the TV production of Cinderella from 1965, starring Ginger Rogers, Celeste Holm, Pat Carroll and Lesley Ann Warren as Cinderella. Also watched Just Like Heaven (2005) with Reese Witherspoon and Mark Ruffalo. Love them, especially Ruffalo. The plot was a stretch, but they're a winning pair. There is a large assortment of old movies and TV shows to choose.

Hot New (Gay) Hockey Series on CRAVE: Heated Rivalry
TonyDown replied to dutchal's topic in TV and Streaming services
Former hockey player Jesse Kortuem will appear on The Drew Barrymore show tomorrow, talking about the positive reflection of gay athletes offered by Heated Rivalry. A special moment happens on the show, already posted on the Internet. So if you'd rather be surprised, I won't reveal what happens with Drew. You can search for it or just watch tomorrow. Was nice to see her show adding more voices to what's good about Heated Rivalry. On Andy Cohen's show, Cohen asked Francois Arnaud a personal question. Arnaud immediately shut it down. IMO the entertainment media needs to be a little more clever about all of their bullshit personal questions. -

Those interviewers could ask if his father approved of Connor's prior role where he plays a psychotic murderer, a role that shows him stabbing an inmate to death. Either case, it's acting. I wish Connor's agent would get in front of these unnecessary questions about Connor's personal life. The one vlog I listened to explained the parents were more interested in the emotional honesty and the professional opportunity the role represents. -
