  1. Award shows are such an enigma. But if you do care that the most popular show in the States right now wins an award, then yes, Heated Rivalry qualifies for these. With all the fame they've already won, winning awards isn't a must, IMO.
  2. I was searching for a "gay" movie on Kanopy and found a documentary film about a Montreal based gay photographer, Alan B. Stone, (1928 - 1992) known mostly for his beefcake photos. The film is called Eye on the Guy: Alan B. Stone and the Age of Beefcake. The film itself painted a much more in-depth story than just erotic photos. If you like photography, history and a good documentary, I recommend it. After some Internet surfing I learned that many thousands of his negatives along with photographs and other of his memorabilia are archived in Montreal at the Quebec Gay Archives. An Alan B. Stone exhibition was curated at The International Center of Photography in NYC many years ago by David Deitcher. He was originally from Montreal. Deitcher said..... “Those pictures had the uncanny effect of conjuring feelings of terror and desire which cleaved my adolescence. Stone’s photographs captured the city not only as I saw it, but as I longed to experience more of it.” Deitcher released a book about Stone photography which I ordered. I doubt if I will make it to Montreal anytime soon to see the archives so am looking forward to the book. Here is a nicely done essay written by Deitcher about Montreal and photography.
  3. I had trouble less than 3 minutes in. I stopped there. I know it's well liked and well reviewed but i didn't want to see that.
  4. +++++++++SPOILER++++++++ Yes, that was a nice scene, with his mom. People get busy making content, such as this clip, below, which added their own choice of music. It made me think how it was Ilya that encouraged Shane to immediately go see his parents, after being discovered by his dad. Ilya 's perspective had to be affected by having lost both of his parents.
  5. I just finished Epi 6. I'm satisfied. ❤️ MUSIC I enjoyed the Heated Rivalry music and just learned there is a Heated Rivalry soundtrack on Spotify and a playlist on YouTube, for those interested. The Epi 6 intro hits at about 6 minutes with a French song I love called L'anarchie des jours heureux, by a performer from Montreal called La Bronze, a Moroccan-Canadian musician and actress. I love the dramatic music choice, for the scene where Scott comes out on the ice, that plays through to Ilya's "I'm coming to the cottage" at the end of Epi 5, called I'll Believe in Anything by Wolf Parade, an indie rock band from Montreal.
  6. It's good to know quality content can arise from a small scale. I don't know how it all works, but I sure hope HBO gave Connor and Hudson something nice in their Christmas stocking.
  7. Yeah, some folks like to complain and nitpick. Other fans are psychopaths. Having social media handlers is a good idea. I wonder if that is a thing. 🙂 We can put the complainers and psychopaths on ignore though, instead of engaging with them. Asking Hudson and Corrie personal questions about their life irritates me. I don't want to know or need to know more than they are willing to portray in their vlogs. The GQ article hinted that the boys aren't really raking in big money, that the Crave production was relatively small. Kudos for their success and taking full advantage of the HBO exposure!! The last episode is coming up in a matter of hours, and then this will die down until Season 2, sometime in 2027.
  8. For fans that want more... This is a great article in GQ with so many interesting tidbits about the show and great photos. 'Heated Rivalry' Stars Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams Talk Hockey, Sex Scenes, and Overnight Success | GQ WWW.GQ.COM Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams were both virtual unknowns when they signed up to star as on-the-DL hockey players in a boldly...
  9. They did!! One interview I listened to admitted they will always include it.
  10. Exactly! By now I wonder if Netflix is regretting dropping Boots! No use crying over spilled milk. At least we get Season 2 of Heated Rivalry.😃
  11. I felt emotions well up. Folks at a sports bar in WEHO got excited.
  12. SPOILER * * * * By now we know....yeah Scott likes men. Will Epi 6 reveal how Hayden reacts to Scott's coming out? <-- rhetorical question I still wonder about Hayden's feelings about his buddy. Either way, Shane and Hayden might see some tension.
  13. The Internet is buzzing over the performances in Episode 5. IMDB rating for the episode is currently at 2nd highest ever for a TV show episode. Connor and Hudson both signed with Creative Artists Agency. Fans are speculating where their fortunes will lead, eg HBOs The White Lotus. The Canadiens showed a Heated Rivalry trailer on their jumbo Tron during Pride Night in Montreal. https://www.reddit.com/r/heatedrivalry/s/Oyfe15o4ck
  14. 🙂 I'm glad the Ilya Rozanov drama includes the fallout he could face back in Russia. That's an important piece these days.
  15. Also, would be interesting to ask your straight friend "does it matter?" Alabama Crimson Tide on AL.com (@alabama__ftbl) • Instagram reel WWW.INSTAGRAM.COM Get the inside scoop on Alabama QB Ty Simpson as he readies himself for the big game against Auburn in the Iron Bowl. What...
  16. I said that Dylan O'Brien's performance in Twinless was award caliber (yeah, I'll blow my own horn) and so this week I was happy to see he was nominated for Best Lead Performance at the 2026 Film Independent Spirit Awards for his acclaimed dual role, for playing twins Roman & Rocky. He already won the Special Jury Award for Acting at Sundance, for Twinless. Award shows are an enigma with a lot of bullshit and drama, yet if any of them might cut through the nonsense, it might be this one. Would love to see Twinless win some awards, especially D.O. That said, another of my favorite films with amazing performances was totally shut out by Independent Spirit. At least in my heart I know how good it was.
  17. I won't spoil anything but....... Holy cow, Epi 5 was the best by far. ❤️ Make sure to watch it before someone spills.
  18. 🎄🌲🎄Once again I attended Chanticleer's Christmas concert last night. Lovely music. 🌲🎄🌲 Such talent. Beautiful choral sounds. I recommend adding it to your holiday schedule if they come to your area.
  19. Now I shall cancel Netflix.
  20. I earned a nice eGift certificate from one of the large retailers in the States. However, the link I received didn't work. I spent a lot of time on line and on the phone with various support people. Ultimately, one solution offered from their troubleshooting playbook was to try the link using Microsoft Edge. That worked!!
  21. How exciting for them! L
  22. A Single Man is streaming on The Movie Channel. I didn't catch the first part. I'd like to watch it again. I enjoyed the cast and the acting. I haven't read the book, by Christopher Isherwood.
  23. Haven't caught lottery fever, this time. My first inclination wouldn't be hiring a provider. I would find new places to live that I could travel to. Australia, Oregon Coast, Palm Springs, Scotland.
  24. My understanding is fans of the book series are wildly happy about Heated Rivalry. The books must be popular to have spawned the show. M/M romance books are very popular with young women. I expect many of them are voting 10.
  25. There's just something about Hudson Williams. ❤️
