Simon Suraci got a reaction from viewing ownly in Folsom, Black Party, Southern decadence & MAL. Is it worth it going?
I was going to attend Folsom this year because a client hired me to join him for a few days. These parties and festivals may not be a place to trot out new clients per se, but a client may very well want to bring you along and show you off to his buddies and throngs of attendees.
There's always the social aspect that can be fun and also productive because someone hires you down the road due to some connection you made just chatting and hanging out (and mildly flirting) with a lot of different people. In these festival situations, it's best to interact with the groups and crowds when they are sober (or at least less drunk) and avoid the hard drug scenes, wherever possible.
I think it would be the most fun when you take time off just to go for yourself, either with friends or solo.
Too bad my Folsom client had to cancel a few weeks ago. I was looking forward to sporting my leather gear in public and being flaunted.

That’s horrible providers respond to you this way. Pervasive ignorance around disabilities makes life much harder.
I see clients with disabilities, both physical and neurodivergent. One of my regulars has cerebral palsy. Another is on the autism spectrum. One has parkinson’s disease. Some others use a wheelchair, cane, or other assistive devices for various conditions.
My studio is not 100% accessible by California standards, but I chose it in part because it has accessibility features. Everyone benefits because it makes things easier to use, whether you have a disability or not. My architect background informs so much of what I do! I like my disabled clients and want them to feel comfortable and welcome. Any provider worth your time will do the same.
Disabled clients want escort services and massages the same as everyone else. I see accommodating them no differently than accommodating other needs and preferences. I help them on and off the table, transferring to the shower, and getting dressed. Many times they don’t want help with things like getting dressed, as this is a way for them to maintain their autonomy. In that case I allow more time for them to do what they need to do, and remain patient while a client does tasks a little slower than others.
Andrew Gurza puts out a lot of interesting content around being gay and disabled. He talks frankly about sexuality and openly about hiring. Anyone interested in these topics might check out his podcast Disability After Dark.
Disabilities manifest in so many different ways. You don’t always know by looking at someone that they are disabled. My partner, for instance, suffers from many chronic conditions. I won’t get into it all of the medical specifics here, but basically he has physical limitations, like he can’t sit, stand, walk, or drive for long periods. No step ladders or anything requiring balance or significant coordination. No heavy lifting. He works half time from home because that’s the most he is able to do. He spends a lot of his time recovering from physical exertion, even from basic daily life activities when he pushes himself too hard. You would never tell by meeting him for a few minutes or passing by him in a grocery store. He started using a cane recently, so maybe you would see that, but he is embarrassed to use it outside our home. He’s only 43 years old.
We need more compassion and understanding toward one another. This work requires empathy, respect, and adaptability. We serve everyone. Online we focus so much on how different we are on the surface. At the end of the day, we’re all just people. People with people needs. I may not be saving the world, but approaching this work the way I do gives me a strong sense of purpose.
Good providers will not shun clients with disabilities. Try to shake off cruel commentary as best you can. Keep looking. We exist, and we care.

I intentionally overprice my overnights at $2k because I really don’t like doing them. It has to be worth my while to put aside the high value I place on quality restful sleep and time to myself at night to regroup emotionally and mentally.
If I were trying to get clients to book me more frequently for overnights, I might price somewhere more in the neighborhood of $1,500 for roughly twelve hours of my time, maybe a little more time including an earlier evening activity like dinner or a date, depending on what the client wants.
The client wanting an overnight often wants to have sex multiple times all night (which is fine), or otherwise wake me up a lot and I basically don’t sleep much if at all, definitely not anything restful. Plus the client snores, and I snore. It’s annoying for everyone involved.
Then morning sex. Again, that’s fine, but it’s a whole production if I need to bottom in the morning. Topping again after having cum multiple times in the past few hours, it’s more difficult to perform at my best. Also, I am not looking or feeling my best until I shower in the morning, so that has to happen as soon as I wake up. I get pretty crabby otherwise. The level of effort to be “on” and perform for overnights is high, so I charge dearly for it.
I would be more open to negotiating a lower rate if the client had a suite with a separate place to sleep. By sleep I mean actual sleep. The playtime can still happen in the client’s bed, and cuddles and all the rest, but the actual sleeping part is way better when I have some acoustical and physical separation. Plus negotiate based on expectations. For example, is this an all night fuck festival, or are we going to sleep by 2am? Things like that.
TBH I don’t see as much value in overnights. I think you get a much better value hiring me for 5 hours before midnight for $1k. But that’s just me.

There is no comprehensive, widely used, purpose-built platform. Mr Number is one of the closest things you will find and it’s dodgy, at best. Anything else we use we keep close to the vest, and for good reason. If you knew about it, it would defeat the purpose. Next topic.

Simon Suraci got a reaction from claym in Thoughts on the meeting location being an Airbnb?
I chalk it up to paranoia. Hosts aren’t interested in guest activities unless the guests damage the property or violate the house rules. If something is damaged, the hosts don’t need it on video inside, just confirmation that a particular guest was in the unit to prove that the damage happened on the guest’s watch.
Lots of AirBnBs have cameras outside, near entries but not inside. One host in Houston noticed I had visitors coming and going and called it in. Since having visitors does not violate the rules, he couldn’t do anything. Only if I had unauthorized overnight guests would I have violated the rules. So the host made up a story about having a family emergency and asked me to leave, and refunded the balance of my stay. Sucks I had to cancel several days full of appointments and high tail it back to Dallas.
You can filter for AirBnBs that do not have any cameras. I do that now whenever possible. I also explicitly ask the hosts before booking if it’s ok to have visitors. I explain that it would not be for parties or loud gatherings, just 1-2 people for a couple hours or so. No problems since I started doing that. I rely on AirBnb, VRBO, and similar services to book my accommodations because it’s the only way I can get everything I need at the right price.
Most hotels do not have guest laundry facilities. Keep that in mind the next time you visit a masseur in a hotel and ask consider how many massages have taken place on the sheets you’re laying on. AirBnBs give me access to the amenities I need to provide a good client experience, like parking, nice neighborhood, an uncramped space to set up a table, and laundry. It’s usually less than hotel prices too, which make it worthwhile for me to do the trip.
Hotels are not immune from peeping toms either. Anyone see that Netflix true crime doc about the hotel owner who watched his guests for years in the attic vents? Consider your level of risk tolerance and proceed accordingly. The vast majority of accommodations will not have cameras spying on guests inside the unit. You’re more likely to be filmed without your knowledge by a masseur, escort, or psychopath hookup in any location than an AirBnB.

I had an overnight recently for a trusted longtime client. He flew in around 9:30pm and I picked him up at the airport. I arranged for a third to join us for about an hour to start. We got the third off to the client’s satisfaction and he left. Then the client and I f*cked like rabbits into the wee hours, taking a break for some massage time between sessions, and had a long, hot (in every sense) shower together.
We finally went to sleep at 3am and we had to get up at 5am so I could drop him back off at the airport for his early morning flight. It was a cuddly 2-hr nap, really. I woke him up by giving him oral to completion and served him a continental breakfast, including organic duck eggs from my farm. He was happy. The crazy travel schedule was his idea, by the way, to squeeze between his other life and work obligations.
I took the day off to recover. I slept from late morning into the mid afternoon and went to bed at my normal bedtime later that night. I turned down clients. That cost me money, but it was necessary for me to make the overnight happen. I also couldn’t in good conscience offer a massage to a client when I knew I wouldn’t be able to give my best. Therefore the compensation at least partially offsets my opportunity costs for the day after.
I charged my client $1,500 and he tipped $100.
My calculus is thus: roughly (5+) hours of service/action (outside the 2-hr “nap”) which I would normally charge up to $1k for, depending on how you dice it. Then there’s the extra couple hours of action/service in the morning I again might have charged between $300-$500 for if it wasn’t an overnight. Plus the courtesy of coordinating the other guy joining. Then there’s the missed work the rest of the day, the hassle of interrupting my sleeping patterns and my general dislike/irritation of sleeping with anyone. Plus the stamina I had to bring and maintain for a long period, and deliver the goods over and over. BUT factor in it was slightly less time than a standard (12) hr overnight +/-. AND I really like and trust this client. We have a good history. We have a good time together. I want him to visit again.
Normally I would have charged $2k for a standard overnight for someone I know less or don’t know at all. Some people can be torturous, and not in a fun way. For him, for this set of circumstances, I charged $1,500. That was the sweet spot for both parties to be happy. He plans to visit again for another session like this soon.
A client might clutch his wallet at amounts from $1.5k-2k (or more) for an “overnight” lasting around 8hrs-12hrs ish, but the way I think through all the components, I believe the range I quote is a pretty reasonable ask. You get a lot of value for the cost. Money aside, overnights aren’t everybody’s cup of tea. For those with the ability and desire, however, it’s really worth the price of admission - particularly with a provider you really like, trust, and get along with.
God knows what this costs to hire a woman for something similar. Count your blessings, boys.

That's not true. We all engage with other professionals who require a deposit to book an appointment or a credit card to charge you a cancellation fee. Sure, the illicit nature of the enterprise doesn't provide recourse that others would, but if we're talking about a small deposit of $25, that is reasonable. Also, in my experience, that deposit is only required for the first appointment. Once a provider realizes you're legit, they don't ask again.

For me, the chance to allow myself to experience the provider’s skill without providing him a roadmap has been exhilarating, often. I’ve discovered new things I now like quite a bit because I let them drive.
All that being said, you are hiring a professional and you definitely can provide some direction. Most would welcome the input and the ones who wouldn’t likely aren’t worth the fee anyway.

I used to get a room that had an outside patio.  His friends would come over and good lord, they would yap all night long.
