I did read it.  Either I had a senior moment (eek! hope not), or my brain short-circuited trying to process the information.  In Honolulu where there must be a zillion different spots for fresh-caught seafood, people are lining up to go to always-frozen-never-fresh Red Lobster??  Baffling, to say the least.

All great advice guys.   I had a blast.  The dancers were hot.   Amazing muscles and washboard abs and handsome.   And all the staff was so friendly.   Wore light beige thin shorts, crotchless underwear, showed my cockhead well.  Was noticed.  Definitely had my cock out for the lap dances. Some let me do more than others.  One dancer paid great attention to me all night.  A very hot one.   Yes, I drank too much and stayed to late.  Loved it.

There's a Red Lobster in Woodbridge NJ where I went with an aunt and/or cousins a few times.  Whenever we went, I noticed that a lot of the customers were black, disproportionate to the demographics of the area.  When I asked my aunt/cousins why it was so popular with blacks, they had no idea but said it always has been.
Aha! so that's why.  Thanks for that bit of history, @samhexum.  While I can't say it changes my opinion of the food, it certainly boosts my opinion of the company.  Tough times ahead for RL.  I wish them all the best.

I retired to Florida after 35 years in San Francisco.   My property taxes are far less than 1k per year.  No state income taxes.  HOA fees 75% less than I was paying for rent in California.  Yes, Insurance is an issue for many, but not everyone.  Call me stupid if you want, but I’m very happy with my decision to live here.

Maybe health care is cheap there, even without insurance.    I was in Peru recently and ended up walking up almost blind in my right eye and called my neighbor who is an MD and he said to get my ass on the next flight home and go straight to the ER.   He is an ortho surgeon, but said it sounded like a detached retina which surgery in a week was crucial or possible an eye stroke.
When I went to the front desk and explained I was flying home that night and the reason, I asked if they would shorten the hotel stay and not penalize me.    This was a staurday morning and was flying on a red eye and the front desk clerk said they may be able to get me into an opthomologist but since it was a Saturday and I wasn't a Peru citizen, I'd have to pay out of pocket and it would be crazy expensive.   I was flying home anyway but figured what was crazy expensive in Peru might not be that much to a US citizen and I figured maybe they could call my eye doctor.

About a half hour later she told me she could only find one opthamologist that could get me in on a Saturday that spoke fluent English and he was 20 miles outside of Lima, so I just told her I would wait to get back home.   She said it was probably a good thing, because his rates were crazy expensive and she was embarrased by how much they charge.    I asked how much out of courosety and she said $100SOL (about $30 US) and I started to laugh and she thought I was laughing at how expensive it was and I told her in the US you probably wouldn't even find a Opthamologist that is working on weekends, and there is no way you would pay that little even without insurance.
I know someone whose brother and sister-in-law were in Lima seven years ago and she was in her second trimester and had to have an emergency appendix removal while they were there.  I'm sure the surgery was a little more complicated with her being pregnant and she had to spend four nights in the hospital and it ended up costing them just a little under $1K for the hospital and surgery.
If medical expenses are that cheap, I'd be happy paying out of pocket.   Really wish I would have kept up with my Spanish when I was younger.   The weather in Peru is like San Diego, it's right on the Ocean and you get get a nice apartment for around $500USD

From the Reader's Digest Large Print Edition (I don't subscribe to the magazine--honest! A neighbor gave it to me to give to my spouse🙄😞
When my friend's father filled out his personal information form at the pharmacy, he listed himself as 'bisexual.' "You're not bisexual!" his wife reminded him. He shrugged and said, "I thought bisexual meant that I believed in a two-person relationship."

That's been my policy ever since the tragedy at Pulse Nightclub. In any bar or club I immediately locate all possible exits & best routes to them.

Never a bad idea to assess where any emergency exits are in a venue, especially if you are unfamiliar with it.

The late founder of Red Lobster refused to obey Jim Crow laws, achieving success & a special place in history among Black Americans.   In 1938, Bill Darden, founder of Red Lobster and Olive Garden restaurants, opened The Green Frog with the tagline ”service with a hop.”
He allowed his Black and white customers to sit where they wanted. So technically, as an outspoken public ally, he risked being lynched. But he survived and his business was profitable and lucrative.
In 1968, Darden, who used his profits from the Green Frog to invest in Florida-based chain restaurants and Howard Johnson properties, opened the first Red Lobster restaurant in Lakeland, Florida. It was so popular that one month later he had to open another one to keep up with the demand. As Darden’s restaurant enterprise grew, its commitment to being a leader in diversity by mirroring its labor pool with the cultural fabric of the local community became clear.

    Lots ? No.
    Recent generations ...yes.
But I am clearly referring to OLD gay curmudgeons.
Secondly..you said it yourself: bratty teenagers. It takes years for adults to appreciate their elders. 20-somethings aren't there yet.
    The point stands.
You're not getting young gay guys to acknowledge what gay men did in the 70s. Just enjoy the fact that these kids won't suffer the same injustices that you all did, and be happy for them.

There is nothing more tiresome than THIS "work and pain" speech you hear from old gay men.
Yes. The old gays did the work and paid the price.
But you're never going to get the acknowledgments you think you're owed from younger gay men.
The same way I've done so much in raising my children. They pretty much take everything for granted because they don't know the differnece from what their life might have been otherwise . As a parent you accept this and remain satisfied that YOU know what you've done and don't ask for compliments you just sit back and enjoy the fact your children are enjoying what you've done for them.
The majority of old gay men never parented so don't understand how to simply enjoy the fruits of their labor without being bitter when the young cuties don't want to be bothered with them.

I've had younger men roll their eyes at me or give me a hostile look for simply looking at them in a bar one too many times.  I completely accept that a 25 or 30 year old guy might not be interested in someone in his 60s since that's how I felt as well.  I do remember being friendly with men much older than me, though, in terms of having casual conversations so it always surprises me when someone is such a jerk about simply being admired a little.
