I'd rather not being called or texted by an escort I have never met, though.

This was a topic in another thread. I believe the consensus was most clients didn't like the unwarranted message.

I think I would too. I have my profile set to invisibility, but when I'm planning to contact someone, I will change it to visible, and visit their profile, just to see if they will reach out to me first. So far it's never happened.

I should have been more clear, I only do this with people I'm planning on contacting anyway, and have always followed through on reaching out to them, so there is no cat-and-mouse.

I've been contacted after looking at a guy's ad & I don't mind it. The only time I do is if I look at the ad again later, and the escort contacts me again with the exact same message, as if we've never messaged before.

I really appreciate it when an escort contacts me on rentmen.... perhaps because I live in the overcrowded New York market, and it is a good way to "differentiate" -- and I often will hire the gentleman who makes himself known to me (btw: i maintain an open client profile on RM, pics and all)

I've had a few messages from escorts along the line of "Hey...what's up?". It must be that they see that I'm online. It doesn't bother me but I haven't replied to any of them. If I'm interested in an escort, I will contact them.

I turn off the feature where escorts can see if I visited their profile on RM. When I had it on, I would occasionally get messages (this happens more with PRO ads on A4A I find). It felt sort of awkward if an escort messaged me and I have no interest in hiring. I just wouldn't reply. Which seems rude but also it doesn't waste anymore of their time on someone who isn't interested.

I had a escort contact me after I checked out his profile. I wasn't offended but wasn't really thrilled either. I wasn't surprized that he could see my profile, the little that is on it. I did wonder if he read it or it was an auto response to all who look. I guess the creepy part was he is just not what I am looking for. Actually if he hit me up in a bar for free I'd shoot him down, Maybe a little harsh, I don't doubt he is a decent guy, but am just not into him. I don't know if a guy on my buddy list just hit me up, if it would get me to hire him over someone else on my list.

The reason I asked this question is simple. One day I was just looking around on RM and noticed that you could do a detailed search which also included clients. It made wonder if this happens.

It appears that some clients do not like it if an escorts contacts them first. Then there are those clients that like a Nice "Hello" from an escort making first contact.

As for myself, I have sent that "Hello" as an acknowledgement to a client that has checked out my profile. Especially if a client that has checked my profile out several times. I wonder if they are shy/nervous and need that door to opened on my end.... It's just in my nature to be friendly.
