Truly a picture is worth 1000 words.

But 'frot' is short for frottage. It's a relatively common sexual perversion. If you want to learn more, there is a good (Penguin edition) book on Sexual Perversions and Deviations that I had to read years ago before volunteering on a helpline.

Really?? Frottage is classified as a perversion??? Wow and here I thought it was just part of foreplay ;-)

One escort once referred to frottage as doing the "Princeton rub"......I have no idea if that's common usage.....he seemed to make the reference with some authority / knowledge......

I've enjoyed it with many guys - me on the bottom being "crushed" by my "ideal" - 6'4", 220-230 lbs of hairy muscle......

he's the only one who ever called it by that "name" though.

I was trying to remember that name @wklucas.

I knew it was an Ivy league habit of some years ago. As I understand it, horny young men were not usually naked. Keeping underwear or briefs on enabled the guys to maintain the 'fiction' that they were 'str8' while they enjoyed the 'friction' that brought them to climax.

The one escort who made that reference ("Princeton rub")....he seemed to say it with some disdain or dislike....perhaps he thought of it as overall "boring".....for him at least.

You volunteered on a sexual perversions helpline?

That’s about the coolest thing I’ve heard lately. It’s kinda like the Thanksgiving Butterball Turkey hotline - except with sheep... and stuff. :p

It got started as a way for guys in denial to get their rocks off, then the AIDS crisis came along and it became a form of safe sex, now it's both. I find it tends to be a thing for bi guys who don't want to "cross the line" when straying from their wives/GFs.

Would you kiss as you rubbed up against each other if you did the "Princeton" perversion? If you did I would think that it would make the denial a little harder even if the cocks were.

I ran an AIDS Hotline in the 1980s, and one of the most common questions we got was about the safest form of sex. "Frottage," fully clothed, was always at the top of the list, because there was almost no danger of contact with the partner's body fluids.

There's another term, for rubbing your cock between your partner's thighs, I can't remember the word though. Back 10 years ago or so when stories of Abraham Lincoln's rumored bisexuality were cropping up, it was said one partner described Abe as particularly talented at it.

interfemoral or interthigh.

As in "It's not bi if it's interthigh"

Intercrural sex (from inter- and Latin crura, "legs"), also known as femoral/interfemoral sex/intercourse, is a type of non-penetrative sex, in which a male places the penis between the receiving partner's thighs (often with lubrication), and thrusts to create friction.

It's just dry humping. What's perverse about that?

Some scholars of Ancient Greek culture now believe that the sexual relationships between mature adult men and younger men, once regarded as anal sex ( what the English referred to as the Greek perversion) was probably intercrural sex. Frottage derives from the French verb frotter meaning to rub. It was the first sexual act I ever did with another man (in 1970). At the beginning of the AIDS crisis, when sex became fraught with fear and regarded as a dangerous pursuit, It became one of a very few activities you could enjoy with another guy without risk of infection. However I was always buck naked while enjoying this activity.

I'm glad SOMEONE responded to the earlier message that frotting is a "perversion." Geez, that's something from decades ago...like sodomy, and oral sex, and anal sex, or doggie style --- all perversions at some point, but not considered so now --- unless you're a fundamentalist Christian or others with similar outlooks. I mean really guys, I thought of all places, participants in this forum would have more of a response to a statement that two guys rubbing their cocks together are "perverts."

Before the moral-outrage brigade gets too excited from their tiresome virtue-signalling, may I point out the following.

1. Personally, I've no problem with whatever 2 (or more) people choose to do sexually if the behaviour is consensual.

2. I referred to a book that I had to read some 40 years ago, which was rather eye-opening as to the wide range of activities possible.

3. Today, the best term for this would be a 'paraphilia' but that term is rather recent and I wonder how many here would have understood it instantly.

Interestingly, what has been ignored here (and which I did not mention) is that 'frot' is often a form of sexual assault nowadays. It occurs on crowded bus, train and subway services, involves a non-consenting partner and typically involves a heterosexual male rubbing up against a female.
