I'll readily admit that I occasionally visit boytoy.com to take a gander at the photographs suckrates has posted. Tried yesterday and again today and nothing. Does anybody know if the site has ceased to exist?

I'm just curious, but why should visiting boytoy, or any other website for that matter, be something which you should admit to doing as if it were a bad thing?

I never researched the archives here, but you can trace the history of the grudge if you research the sand box in boy toy. There is a similar unwritten policy in both sites: we do not talk about the "other" site. Oops.

Thanks guys. It must be Firefox on my computer.

Speaking of Firefox, should you ever get a full-page critical update for the browser, never click on accept and immediately close it down and refresh it immediately. It's a malware that can potentially infect your computer. Firefox Will never update your browser in that manner. It's easy to fall prey to that type of false warning. It is, going around.

+1

This started happening to me also, and I ignored it for several weeks, then decided to click on it and do the update..and of course my AVG immediately shut it down and sent me a warning. Agree it is malware so everyone be careful how you deal with it.

FWIW...BT works for me, as does "Luck of the Irish" :p

Many thanks, Firefox is my primary browser.

I have compared speaking of one site on the other to the risk of the planned Nicaragua canal introducing venomous Pacific sea serpents into their non-native Atlantic.

I occasionally got to boytoy to look at their Latin America and European Destinations forums. Boytoy seems to have the best information for those destinations.

Same here. I live in Prague, and there seems to be A LOT more traffic in the European section of boytoy than in its equivalent here.

Some folks post on "the other site" and on this one too.

Maybe it is a bad thing posting on both sites, is there any rivalry that I don't know?

@Larstrup do you post on boytoy?

I only post on here and I started when I retired at age 70, before I was an occasional reader but I did take time to write and post reviews.

I check BT now and then, I just find it boring. Their traveling section is always complimented, but I am not in a moment of my life where traveling has any significance. Here there is more life, more traffic, more exchange of ideas and information. Things get interesting over there when drama from here migrates.

Suffice it to say that the relationship between the to sites is "complicated". Over the years management of both sites reached an "understanding" either directly or indirectly as time moved on.

The other site, originally called Male Escort Review, evolved from members here who thought they had a better idea of running such a forum and review site. This was both before and immediately after the founder of this site, HooBoy (RIP), passed away. Schism my be too strong a word to describe the situation but it comes close to the truth for sure.

Both sites share a crossover membership. There are some who only post on one site exclusively. Further, there are some who've been timed-out here who then go "over there" to rant and rave. Messages seem to traverse between the two sites via crossover members somewhat akin to the diplomatic exchanges between East and West during the Cold War.

Each site serves its membership well enough to have remained viable these many years.

Firefox 52.0 was just released. One of there "enhancements" was to warn and "protect" us from sites where our info "could" be comprised. Wish I new how to turn that damn feature off.

The information at the following link may be helpful for disabling the Firefox 52.0 browser security feature you mention.

When reading this I had an image of Martin Luther nailing a manifesto to the door.

That said, I find "the site whose name shall not be spoken" to have a cheap, trashy look. Just checked it and see they have slightly reduced the "cheap" factor by removing the images of the older man lighting a cigar with a $100 bill, but the imagery of bills floating about is just off-putting to me. Also not crazy about the site name. Again, just sounds cheap.

Over the years I’ve put together much of the story in snippets of info from both sites. Actually both owners have given “their side” of the story in bits and pieces in various forms.

It’s unfortunate.

It will likely never get resolved between the two.

But competition is good. It brings about innovation. The ideal would be respectful competition with certain shared goals. Like Microsoft vs Apple.

Or even somewhat like the “frenemies” situation between GM and Ford when they jointly developed their newest transmissions.

Attacking the other site serves no useful purpose. If history is a guide that behavior will likely get the thread locked down and/or removed. That response seems to be true for admins from both sites.

However, it could be helpful for forum members to provide constructive comment on what could be mutual goals. Not only between the admins but between the forum members.

Things like:

Supporting 1st Amendment Rights

Supporting freedom of the bedroom between consenting adults.

- But recognizing exploitation, human trafficking and children.

Some of your ideas might be better passed as a PM to the admins vice posted here publicly.

A picture of a man lighting a cigar with $100 is off putting and cheap looking.

Yet this sight begs for money a couple of times a year and the minions fall to their knees and throw money as fast as they can.

Both sites serve a purpose. One begs for money and one doesn't. I guess out opinions of cheap looking are different.

Actually for me I don't care how prettier the banners are at either site, I'm just interested in the content.
