Why not just refer to you as "an athlete?" To me (and maybe I am overly sensitive) but adding semi-ageist adjectives to refer to individuals is unneeded and unwelcomed. Does he use qualifying adjectives when he refers to his 20-something athletes? I fired my PT recently b/c, in my opinion, he showed favoritism to his younger clients (gave them more time on the table) and made ageist remarks like "mature clients" and "you're going to feel like a young man." I didn't appreciate these editorial comments on my age or my capacity for enjoying life.

Another term I've noticed in corporatespeak-land is "legacy" ... as in "it's a legacy brand" or "legacy product." That sounds to me awfully similar to "legend" or "legendary."
