Just wanted to put this up in case Seaboy checks in. Otherwise, has anyone heard from him over the past couple of weeks? I'm sure he's busy, and he's doing the right thing by prioritizing his health.

@WmClarke & @FreshFluff , thank you for your posts. You motivated me to get off my ass and do something about it.

I don't have Facebook, so I finally got a hold of Greg and got his permission to post an update on his behalf for anyone interested:

  • He is taking a break from the forum to focus on this challenge
  • Some of you know he had to shave his hair. He is not so happy about that, but he looks adorable - that's my edit.
  • What does he need? Lots of positive thoughts and good vibes bc this is proving to be very challenging
  • The week when he turns his pump in and gets his chemo shot is the hardest. He has a full week of the chemo pump and the 2 weeks off, then the cycle starts again.
  • Oct 7 should be his last day of this.
  • Let's focus our prayers, energy, thoughts, or whatever you believe in (or not) towards that date and this little rebel.
  • I want my @seaboy4hire back, damn it!

Would it be all right to send him a Facebook message? Can someone post his facebook locator? Is this allowed?

@glennnn, Greg himself already gave us the locator under the "shitty June" thread. Here you go:

For those that may be interested all my treatment updates and how Im feeling will be posted on my FB page https://m.facebook.com/greg.marquez.50?ref=bookmarks theres an option to follow and as far as I know I have no idea who follows me if you dont want to do a friend requeat. But just so you dont get your panties in a bunch, I use fowl language and my fb page is ME uncensored and sometimes unpc. If you got thin skin and need to often hide in your safe space dont click on the link.

Hugs,

Greg

Hey gang! It has been about a week since the last update. I just connected with Greg and he is ok with my giving an update here on his behalf:

  • I shared how many of you are PMing or commenting on this or other threads. He is feeling the love :)
  • He has had 3 shots to the back and so far no sign of cancer in the spinal fluid. He has asked the doc to back off on those shots cuz they are really painful.
  • He had a trip planned for November but taking a break on the shots may actually interrupt that travel
  • His appetite has been quite low and food is not tasting well and swallowing has been difficult but he had IV fluids this AM that helped him feel better.
  • He is down to 125 lbs which is about a 10lbs loss; however, he is looking forward to a tuna casserole dinner tonight. Btw, He was able to devour 12 pieces of bacon this AM - Some things never change...give the man some meat and he indulges! :D
  • He does have a patient advocate that has been great and got him a bus pass to save on transportation. He also has someone getting his appointments done and filling in doctors and nurses with updates.
  • He is gonna try to log on later this week and he appreciates the messages and care. Just be patient with him.

I'm gonna finish this post with my usual call to action: send good vibes of courage and love his way.

Thank you True. Was worried about him. Look forward to him posting again but if you contact him again tell him how much love there is for him here, that we hold his hand & stand by him & send him the biggest possible hugs in the world.

I had taken a break from posting though I was reading and checking in but I had been concerned about a few people because they had not been seen here. I asked after Greg in a few PM's and I am glad this post is here to bring us up to date.

Feisty is one word I would use to describe Greg and I am sure that quality is helping him in this challenge.

Greg, Keep moving forward and know that there are lots of us behind you, most of us enjoying the view.

Hey everyone! I'm still around and kicking and sometimes screaming. Like TR said above I've taken some time off the forum to concentrate on getting better and doing what I need to do. I see my lil box is full of messages and I promise I will reply to you all but it may take some time. Mentally and often times physically I am beat. I try my best to get myself to work when I can and head to the beach at least once a week for decompression time. Luckily the beach is about 2 blocks away. The only thing thats changed in TR's update about me is that I am no longer doing the chemo shots into my back. Physically I can not handle it. 24 hrs after my shot I am nearly immobile for 3 or 4 days. And if I do need to walk around it's at a very slow and PAINFUL pace. The dr was doing the shots as a preventative but I argued no cancer has been found in my spinal fluid and I've had 3 shots, it's enough. She said ok but if something comes up we'll need to start doing the shots again. Other than that I've been trying to get lots of rest and eat well. I'll do my best to pop in more often.

Hugs,

Greg

Update:

  • Had a nice couple of days last week with a bit of fun banter with Seaboy; however, on Saturday he had to go in to the hospital with breathing issues
  • Finally got hold of him today for an update. He is still hospitalized and he complained that he can't sleep bc (as we all know) howpital staff keep waking him up for check ups, etc.
  • He sounded feisty, which caused me to smile bc that is reminiscent of they guy I've grown to care for.
  • although he is on regular food it is difficult to eat it due to thrush - medicines can wreck havoc on your body.

Please keep our Seaboy top-of-mind. -TR

Thanks for the update and for your care. Seaboy was one of the brilliant sexy posters who got me to start posting here.
