Any others???

This is pretty timely for me. I'm considering hiring a pair who do not have face pics and in the past I've always just skipped them and moved on.

What is the usual response? Do 50% respond with a valid pic? 75%? 10%?

@dutchmuch, I don't think you get enough credit for the 3-finger shot idea. I learned this from you a while back and i think it is flawless! I use a modified version. It helps me screen out guys who are either fakes, flakes or who just won't put forth any effort. In this day & age, with so much fakery, how difficult is it to snap a cute shot of yourself with whatever (easy ) instructions the client requests? I typically get 3 out 5 new guys (for me) to do it. Sample answers:

8. "You are too needy".

9. Sent 3-finger shot shot while holding today's newspaper. :)

10. Sent 3- finger shot while holding a cardboard sign on the other hand that read: [todays date] - Let's get busy! :D

I get the selfie idea, but where do three fingers come in? Isn't this like proof of life photos where you want some proof of date?

In theory the three finger or thumbs up photo will be a fresh photo although adding the date or asking for a photo with a piece of paper with the date written on it, adds to the likelihood of the pictures being authentic.

I've asked perhaps a dozen times. I'v never gotten selfie with the requested digits.

Most ignore; I suspect they figure there are easier victims.

A few have gotten impassioned responses arguing that the request is an insult.

A few have protested that they don't send pics. For these, I have explained the features of IG and Snapchat. It has never made a difference.

Another way I have to filter out the fakes is to write: Come meet me at the Starbucks at _____. If you do not look exactly like your pics, no deal. If you weigh more than the promised 175, no deal. If you are not 6'1, no deal. I will not pay in advance. This is not my first rodeo. Let me know if you are coming.

I get about 1 response in 10. But, the one is legit, and I have not been robbed or killed, so this what I'm sticking with until one of you suggests a better way.

When I asked for a confirmation (via FaceTime or picture) that it was him, he just ignored the text and never replied back. Therefore I just passed him by. If escorts don't have legitimate reviews on this site to confirm who they say they are, I'll always question them to confirm their identity to their ad. There are just too many catfishes (bait and switch) out there these days, and I get tired and frustrated with fakes, phonies, and shams. I work hard for my money, and I prefer avoiding surprise and disappointment when the guy in the ad is not the one that answers the door.

I don't send pictures of my face, but if anyone asked me to take specific pictures to appease them, I would pass without any further ado.

I put a lot of effort in creating a clear image of who I am, supporting a strong positive presence and a long list of reviews. Personally, I am not much for jumping through hoops.

Now, if you are about to hire an escort whose ad appears to be a scam, I guess thats an entirely different thing.

Juan, I had always read these 'proof' requests as being methods to resolve doubt about the authenticity of an ad, not an 'every case' procedure. As such I always considered them unremarkable. I would be dismayed if there were people who seek to apply them to everyone they approach. Any combination of a consistent and clear advertising presence, good reviews, positive commentary in here or positive engagement with the forum should be enough to obviate the need for a specific photo. I completely understand your stated reaction to such a request.

Exactly... folks likethat will never be pleased, I am sure many of them are just wasting your time and enjoying the power of demanding something (a specific pic) and getting it... maybe some wants assurance the pics are real but 90÷ are picture collectors or just paranoid.

What would they ask next? Meeting in the corner.

Last night I got a reply to a (non-escort) ad I had placed - the response culminating in "I just got a new phone, so no pics, but if you hit me up I can add you on Snapchat and can send u pics there..."

I wasn't going to reply at all, but then I decided to call his bluff, and wrote back:

"I'm so happy you have a new phone. That means you can take some new pics of yourself and send them to me. I'll be excited to see them."

Haven't heard back from him yet, lol...

11. I just don't send out selfies to anyone that asks.

(Would love to know the inclusionary criteria...)

I wondered the same, especially given the fact that you're known on here. Seems like you would be the ideal prospect to send a pic to..
