I don't think Japanese eat cats or dogs. Thats some of their cousins on mainland Asia that go that way.

Not a single one of these cats looks happy... in other words, there's no effect of wearing the kimonos.

(Though I'm surprised that no one has offered that these are the cat's pajamas.)
