Thanks for your comments Steven. I'm happy to read any commentary on these issues. I was unaware of any discussion of these issues in Washington last month, but I am not particularly perceptive. I agree with TR that we don't need point scoring in the forum but we do need to have an informed debate about what is going on. Steven's interventions contribute to this (as do JD's). TR, this will be a marginal issue in PS so you shouldn't worry about attending the event. I would if I could.

Mike, please enlighten me as to how you know that this will be a marginal issue in PS? For many years I have attended Oliver's party and will attend again this year, however the drama that now surrounds the gathering gives me concern , so your insight as to why "the issues" will be marginal may go a long way towards alleviating any concerns I may have.

To the suprise of some I am sure, part of this story predates last years Palm Springs event, which was well attended, a lot of fun and in which everyone played nice. Some played particularly nice in a remote corner, but that was two consenting adults doing what two consenting adults do. So please do not let what has turned into a family feud that Scicilians are very used to seeing, dissuade you from the party.

As I told my mother about my wedding, Aunt Julie and Uncle Joe will be seated at the same table and they will act like adults, I do not care who took how much money from whom. They are not being sent to separate corners. I expect adult behavior. I expected and I got it with Aunt Julie and Uncle Joe dancing together at the end.

So, expect to have fun and don't be surprised to see some interesting adult tangoes in the end.

Clearly I don't know it will be a marginal issue, but I expect it will be. I am confident that there will be many men and women who want to have a good time at the meeting and will be able to disregard the background chat we are having now. I was unaware of the alleged issues in DC, and I expect many if not most of the attendees at PS will be similarly unaware of this discussion and will just want to have a good time.

Thanks for putting it out there Steven. It takes a real man to lay it on the line like that. I was one of those in PS last year that TB was talking about that opted out of the festivities. Still a wonderful trip, because in addition to enjoying the fantastic PS weather, I was able to see my favorite stud TB and the wonderful Alec Andrews in one weekend.

All that JD needs to do is attend and be the class act he is. You are most welcome, JD, and I truly wish you have a fun and CARE FREE year. It is the kindest thing we can all do for the boys and girls attending the party, who just want to have fun.

 

Sounds like a kind and thoughful wish, Steven. I hope the Palm Springs event is as successful as every other year, dispite some personal disagreements.

I agree Mac64. Many of us knew what was going on behind the scenes for several months now. It was all fairly obvious, so it's good that some of this is out in the open. Most of us know, or should know already who the adult in the room is.

 

I attended one PS event a few years ago when I was in LA. It was an amazing experience, and still to this day have a fondness and soft spot in my heart for several of the members that I met there. Since coming three thousand miles to hang my hat, I wasn't really planning on returning, but now... meeting Mr. Kessler is on my bucket list. I know I know, she's an old whore, but she is damn sexy when she's mad.

 

And for the record, Steven solicited me once through a PM to help contribute to the Rentboy fund, and asked me to help Dave fund raise. It was something that I knew he was passionate about. He also said that if I chose not to contribute or help, that he would completely understand, and that no explanation would be necessary. I did decline. He simply thanked me and moved on. That was the end of it...A class act in my book.

 

Now...on to Nevada and South Carolina. My girl might be in trouble in the South, so I'm sitting here eating cheesecake, and on pins and needles waiting for some results.

P.S. weekend has gotten progressively better each and every time I've seen it...many kudos to Oliver, Jason, Epigonos, as well as our anonymous residential host of the event for opening hearth and home and pool for us. A first class affair all across the board...and thank you Mac64 for coming forward and saying that 'you were one of those people' that came to PS, and yet didn't come to the pool party...you made me not look like a liar, by supporting what I said. Truly appreciate it. And you of ALL people, with the way you look...it certainly shouldn't be for intimidation purposes that you didn't hit the pool with us...christ you look better than most of the escorts there!

 

Haha Thanks stud! I had to come forward and support one of the most straight forward men out there. Next year hopefully we both can make it and you can drag my ass to the pool party....Just wish you were gonna be at your home base this coming week, I'm heading to Boston Wed-Sat. oh well, Ill just have to wait for you to add Detroit to your travel list.....

So is this open to brand newbies? Even those who have posted exactly once?

There have actually been attendees who have never posted at all, because they are guests of MB members, or are lurkers who have learned where we meet (you sneaky devils know who you are!). But you don't get invited to the Saturday night dinner or the Sunday party (there is a bouncer at the door) without contacting Oliver in time for him to put you on the guest list.

<-------can second that AzDr0710 is a helluva tour guide, in any number of cities across the US. Have been fortunate to have been shown some of the best sights in Socal and AZ, courtesy of his hikes. What's even more hysterical is seeing someone who LOOKS like they're in shape like me...whining and crying and getting my ass kicked on these vertical segments, while AzDr flies to the top likes he's got wings. A whole different type of strength and endurance!
