Well, if you asked while I was staring at your avatar (which I have previously praised), I'd ask when you are visiting the East Coast ... oh wait! ... you did ask while I am staring at your avatar ... so ... when???

P.S. I suppose I am responding to the $500 question, because I know you're not a $50 (let alone $5!) kinda guy and I, sadly, am not a $5,000 kinda guy.

An extra $5000? Maybe stash some away for a rainy day. But I'd probably splurge on an overnight or weekend with one of my favorite escorts. It'd be fun for me and a nice bonus for him. I usually don't go over two hours.

$500? Probably treat myself to an hour or two with a totally new guy: someone well-reviewed that I've been following for a while.

$50? IDK an event maybe....a play or something.

$5 Lunch at a cheap place :D

Where do you get lunch for $5.00?

True. There a few places in Downtown LA you can get a decent sandwich for take out for around that. But come to think of it an overpriced, sinfully-rich, freshly-baked desert from a bakery may be a better choice. ;)

You can get lunch for $5.00 at Del Taco, especially if you go on Taco Tuesday!

As for Bryan's questions... interestingly, the only one I'm really having trouble with is the $5,000 one. But that's a problem I'd like to have!

With an extra $500, I'd hire one of the guys I've lusted after who are unfortunately out of my price range.

With an extra $50, I'd treat myself to a new pair of shoes. My current addiction is Converse high tops.

With an extra $5? LOL, I don't know, probably hit Starbucks. Or Ben & Jerry's, if I happened to be near one.

An extra $5000: 4000 would go into a savings account while I use the left over 1000 to hire gentlemen.

$500: hire a vocal coach, been wanting to do that for ages

$50: er... Maybe go out to dinner in restaurants. I don't have expensive tastes and there is very good food to be had where I live at midrange prices.

$5: just cash in the wallet. I always seem to forget to have cash handy in my wallet.

$5000 :

$700 - roundtrip, economy-class tickets to Paris.

$1300 - rent for a month for a decent, livable Paris studio in a safe arrondissement.

$3000 - money I'll spend to live like a Parisian for a month.

OR

$1800 - iMac

$1300 - Macbook Air

$400 - PS4

$600 - no-plan iPhone 6s (or whatever's coming out in the fall)

$900 - furnishings to make one room in my house into a gaming and media room

OR

$3000 - Dolce & Gabbana suit

$1000 - Burberry London trench coat

$100 - Everlane shirt

$500 - Gucci shoes

$150 - Paul Smith bowtie and cufflinks

$250 - Gucci cardholder

$500 :

2 hours with one of my favorite guys

OR

Dinner with three other friends at Peter Luger in Brooklyn

OR

VIP tickets to The Lion King on Broadway

I'll buy all the pizza that I can get with the money, and offer a free slice to anyone who will say something nice or do something nice (like hug them) to the next person in line.

$50 :

Get a foot massage

OR

Get a haircut and a straight-razor shave

$5 :

$5 would be exchanged for coins to be placed in my "spare change" piggy bank (which fills up about every 2-3 years with enough to buy a Broadway ticket or a very nice dinner).

$50 would buy a theatre ticket via TDF.

$500 would go directly into my *other* piggy bank, where every week I dutifully put aside some extra folding money so that I might occasionally splurge on special pleasures (ie. gents like -- I hope one day soon -- BryanFS).

$5k would be split roughly in three parts, with the first part going toward the monthly subsidy I provide for a family member and the second applied to one of several looming major purchases (ie a new car, a new computer, or new post-weightloss wardrobe). The final third would probably be held in reserve for a special "extended session" with an as-yet-undetermined gent.

I would put the 5k down on rental property...and yes, at that "price point" in FTL 5k is very "doable" as a down. Most likely the property would need some "upgrades", but it's "value added" and the best way to "optimize my capital"... With interest rates still doable, and stagnating somewhere in the single digits, it might be time to "offload stress" and "pull the trigger" on this project. :D

Oh yeah...

$500 would be spent on a new piece of Tumi luggage (I wants a new carry on)

$50 on a CL or BP boi the night before it's "wheels up" for the west coast with my new Tumi.

$5 would go in the center console of the car for that emergency stop at 7-11 for a Red Bull and a snickers, just before I meet with the contractors at my new rental property.

I would give it to a deserving young person to enable him to learn a trade and perhaps change his life.

beethoven hit it out of the park. We get caught up in our own pleasure and self gratification.

$5,000 to beethoven's deserving young person

$500 donation to the shelter

$50 drop in the red kettle at Xmas

$5 McDonaalds for the hungry homeless guy on the offramp.

That's admirable ^ but the Salvation Army would never get a penny from me, no matter how much money I had.

Rob

Alright the red kettle wasn't the best example. But it was all that came to mind at the moment.

How about $50 to Toys for Tots, with an added bonus of the hot marines which collect for the program. It is a win win for all :)
