There was an ad on Rentboy which mentioned that on a trip to NYC, the escort would appreciate being taken to a particularly expensive restaurant. I know of escorts who have wish lists on various shopping sites.

It seems to me that many escorts make direct or indirect request for a bit beyond their usual fee even though many are earning more than a comfortable living and could well afford to indulge themselves.

I am wondering if the opposite occurs. Are there any of the escorts here who have ever been in a situation in which it is clear, for whatever reason, that a long time client is financially in over his head and as a result the escort has turned down an expensive dinner or at least suggested a cheaper alternative or turned down an encounter or reduced a fee for a client who may not be doing well financially.

I know there will be some who will quickly jump on the argument that this is not the escorts responsibility and if the client wants to play he has to pay. My question is not to place the onus on the escort, but rather, just as lawyers do pro bono work and some doctors will adjust fees for patients in strife, are there escorts out there doing pro boner work?

After many years of working with a particular client, has any escort finally said: Syd you have been good to me and after all these years, enough is enough, and the next visit (s) are on the house.

Has enough ever been enough?

In the mind of many escorts, the theme is not what you did for me in the past, rather, what can you do for me now, at this moment.

Often, the same philosophy spills into other relationships.

That is the answer to your query.

As a retiree now living on a modest fixed income, I will gladly accept any charity or comped sessions from our working guys. I'm not unduly proud to admit that as a poor country boy, any assistance is most welcome.:D

When Willian Randolph Hearst got into financial trouble in the depression, his mistress, actress Marion Davies, sold some of the jewelry he had given her to raise cash for him. While not an "escort" but a "mistress", it was a touching act of love.

When the Clintons were "flat broke", would Monica have sold the blue dress to raise funds for them?

One escort, whom I had hired a couple of times, learned that I had recently celebrated a birthday, and at the end of an appointment, he gave me a bottle of wine that he had bought for me as a gift. (OK, it was an $11 bottle, but it was the thought that counted.)

i know a guy who found out his client was pulling his fee from cc cash advances. it was crippling the guy financially. he didn't offer the guy a freebie but he did tell the client he couldnt see him any more

I believe that woman ... Miss Lewinsky ... recently said it was time to "burn the beret and bury the blue dress," so that sounds like a NO. But what a waste. In May, The Daily Mail (UK) reported that the Erotic Heritage Museum in Las Vegas offered a whopping $1 million for the dress. Just think how many loaves of day-old bread, how many dented cans of soup, that could have bought...

Over the vast expanse of time I have been hiring I have had a few experiences of this type.

Many years ago I shared my newfound interest in the writing of Doris Lessing, when the escort came the next time he brought me two of her books I had not read.

A recent Escort of the Year, has taken me to dinner after our session, and though I offered, refused to let me pay.

A masseur I used for a number of years on my fifth appointment said "this one is on me". He did so every fifth appointment for next couple years until he retired.

On the other hand, when the recession of '08 hit and my income was reduced by half. I was seeing a guy every two weeks for several years who I had become close with. He had a secure high paying day job, and I asked if we could reduce his fee so I could continue seeing him with same frequency. He said it was impossible. I cut back to once a month, and eventually stopped seeing him altogether.

One guy I really liked and had hired for about 4 or 5 weekends over the space of 5 months as well as one or two overnights gave me a gratis overnight. I paid for the meals we ate.

I was really nervous once -it had to do with being afraid of missing a plane I had to make. I felt so bad that I tried to offer (former porn star)Dean Monroe extra money for our time together. He wouldn't take it.

One escort I had hired for an overnight-after dinner I wanted to go to a Barnes and Noble-yes I really know how to show an escort a good time (he was fine with it)-it turned out we liked the same genre, and he bought me a book.

I'm sure on a weekend some escort may have bought me a meal. But maybe not.

Monica would if she needed to refill the coffers to quote George Bush who cashed a check for $100,000 from a veterans charity for a speech, or his wife who similarly cashed $50,000. A new low, even for republicans. I hope your new arm allows you to sign checks to my wife and me.

Liberals have been howling at the moon over that story of the speaking fees, ignoring the fact that both fees were actually discounted and the veterans' group, who ALWAYS pays for speakers, was over the moon to get them AND raised a shitload of money because they were there.

Only in politics do people get castigated for working for a fee, even at a discount.

Doesn't change my view, Bushy and his poor driving wife shouldn't have cashed the speaking fees and shouldn't still have given the speeches which would have allowed the same fundraising. What's your definition of a "shitload" of money as a result of the speeches?

An escort can suggest anything he wants in his ad. It's just a suggestion. It's up to the client to stay within budget.

To address some of the other tangents: As the client, I expect to pay for everything we decide to do. Even so, there have been times when an escort insisted on paying for lunch or a round of drinks. I just add the amount to his tip. I've even had one escort bring me a gift on our first meeting. Totally unexpected and led to an incredible experience. Many more, I hope.

Gift bearing escort sounds familiar.:)

Sorry, but a wealthy man accepting $100,000 for a single speech from a charity stinks to high heaven, politics or not, and whether it's "discounted" or not. Many artists give charity concerts in which ALL the proceeds go to charity. I donate time and money to charities, not the other way around. OK. So I do accept a modest dinner after volunteering at the free clinic in the evening (along with the other volunteers). Those dinners are donated by local businesses who support the free clinic. But I'd never accept $$ in order to help a charity. Very uncouth, IMHO.

I think we both hired the same escort... I took him out to dinner, then, when the check came, he grabbed it. It's the classiest and most impressive thing I've ever seen an escort do. It made a very good impression on me, needless to say.

Back to PK's question.....Numerous escorts have purchased meals, drinks, small gifts or gift cards for me, but the only significant freebie came from a hungry humble college boy (Lawd bless him!). He and I had a beneficial arrangement for over a year while he was in school. We met many times for evenings, overnights, etc. On one weekend with him, our time was fantastic as always, and while I was showering/dressing to leave and return home, he slipped the entire fee back into my bag. I noticed it later that night, and when I texted him, he confirmed he did it as an act of appreciation for treating him to some venues he had never experienced.

In future meetings, he collected that amount and much more. He graduated, moved, began his professional career, and I am happy for him. And that hungry college boy will always be fondly remembered by me.

I once had an escort pay to upgrade us to separate rooms.

He did let me cover his minibar though. http://www.boytoy.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif

At the end of an outcall to my drab corporate housing in Chicago, a massage therapist handed back some of his fee, saying I should use it to brighten up my apartment.

Reminds me of a friend from years back, his apartment was notably drab and Spartan. His most prized piece of furniture was his bicycle trainer. He was broken into and said they didn't take anything. Another friend asked "Did they maybe leave a painting or something to brighten up the place?"

I never host anyone at my home down on the farm. That's my space, and off limits to this hobby, but I regularly host guys in my city condo unit; think small hotel suite. It's modestly furnished, always clean, fresh sheets, towels, water and non-alcoholic beverages. I have no interest in decorating it as a home; it's not. I have a home where I have made that investment. This is just a hotel room, a place to stay and play while I'm in the city.

Yet, several escorts have criticized the decor, furnishings, amenities, or age of the building over the years. Not one of them was ever invited back.
