The criminal complaint (and especially the tweets cited in the affadavit) definitely suggest that whatever relationship/boundaries existed between Jarec and his patron had collapsed when the extortion really began. Seems like the patron was trying to cut Jarec off & Jarec was having none of that. Between the tweets & the fact that Jarec's buddy sold him right out, things aren't looking too good for him right now.

Having lived in LA for a number of years while working in filmed entertainment (still have some friends in the business) there are many people in that town with that kind of discretionary money. I have one friend in LA near the beach that has over $11 million in bank accounts which he considers his "safety net", no debt, several properties and no stock investments. And he's likely considered poor when compared to many others out there. Actors not only get paid for shows and movies but residuals go on for decades. Producers, their assistants, writers, etc., etc. have similar streams of income.
