As I began to gather my tax information for this past yr.. I notice after adding up my expenditures, that I spent or will spend S2600 dollars on escorts. Thats roughly an escort a month. This was down from last years sum of $3100. It looks like a lot when your itemizing this nuget on line "69" I always think...there goes my Sony T.V.

If I was an escort I would not like this question. Reading what you guys have to say I started thinking and adding up and I look back and where could that $10,000 have gone. I am a newbie to hiring and I have only spent 600 dollars this year. I make okay money but not the type of others appearently on this board. I find the fees going up just since I started hiring, even in a bad economy. I am very particular I don't want to spend 200 bucks on a bad encounter therefore I found myself hiring the same guy 3x. I want to branch our but it is too expensive and I will probably not be hiring much any longer and I have heard that from a few others.

Believe it or not some of us (not all) do not want a relationship for whatever reason. Actually Franco looks like there are quite a few paying for it and paying quite a bit. More than most other "hobbies". Are you complaining or explaining? Although I hear a lot of people responding here with "sticker shock," one should think of the alternative. About 6 months ago, I met a young man online for whom we're trying to get asylum (i.e. an illegal alien at this point, unable to have a legal job). Since that time I haven't hired any escorts, and he's lived with me. Taylor, I think it's because different people have different priorities in life. And what makes people happy varies from person to person.

 

Some people (sounds like you're one of them) places a higher priority and gets more happiness in having one partner to be your lover, your friend, and companion. For others, sex with guys they find very attractive is what makes them happy and don't want or need a relationship.

 

And I think there are others that probably would love to fall in love and settle down with someone but have not been successful in meeting that special someone. So maybe hiring escorts is the next best thing.

 

I happen to be caught in the middle. I have always wanted to meet Mr. Right, settle down with a house in the suburbs, get a kitty and a dog, and live happily ever after. But I've never been able to meet this Mr. Right. And I've come to the conclusion that if I haven't met him by now (at age 40), it is very doubtful I ever will. It was not clear from this whether you are having sex with the young man. Is he a "kept" man? Is there a difference between that an escort? Same profession? Different Union?

Very few escorts work the number of hours "most of you" may work and get paid $200 for each of those hours. On the contrary, a professional companion may spend hours answering emails, dealing with telephone inquiries, or other anciliary activities to an actual session. When you take all those hours into account, no escort makes the kind of income many clients believe that we do.

 

My point in being the only other escort who commented in this thread beyong Jeff (who does hire), were that escorts do have expenses related to this business. We do not just show up, collect the money and go on our way.

When I look at how much I have spent on escorts it pales in comparison to how much I spent in my relationship. While one rarely keeps tabs on what is spent during a relationship....... when I added up the dinners..the trips..the gifts ....ughhhh. I actually was better off with escorts and at least I had variety. Of course this is how I feel in this current relationship.

I'm sure I spent in excess of $10,000. Most of that was well worth it. It's probably more useful for me to examine how much of that I wish I hadn't spent. I'd gladly spend $300 a week for a 90 minute session with Renn or Mick for example, and if I lived in NYC I would.
