The subject of my earlier thread is Daniel_Richards. I've waited quite a while to identify him because I kept hoping he'd make good on his repeated promises to make things right. He finally ghosted me--no surprise there--and clearly I'm not going to see that $500 again.

I guess you started this second thread because some other member advised you that simply identifying the guy in your previous thread would do no good.  I'm not sure why you got that advice as the search function here does, in fact, search the body of what's posted, not just the thread titles.

Here's a broad, general comment that will make me a pariah on this board:

A neck tattoo conveys different energy, but the same message, to me that a bible verse does on a Facebook profile or contractor's truck:

"I'm gonna screw you over, its just a matter of time."

To be fair, I'd sooner put my trust in the neck tattoo though. Unless the tat is a crucifix. 🙄

That's him. He was great . . . until he wasn't.

I was dialoguing with him until I read how he screwed you (and not in a good way). No way I'm engaging with a thief. Thanks for the info. Karma, baby.

Do you think it would do any good if I let him know that the reason I'm disengaging is b/c of how he took your money but did not provide the service? He's now in Nashville.

He reached out to me shortly after I posted here and sent me half of what he owed me. I suppose it's possible he'd send the other half if you said something, and also possible that he'd behave better in the future. I wouldn't even necessarily warn anyone against hiring him--as long as there's no deposit involved. He's very good at what he does.
