This just popped up for me on YouTube. It was interesting. I'm not familiar with the interviewer Matt Cullen, but I'm going to look up his other work. 
 

He interviews a former actor who went by Derrick Stanton. The piece says Mr. Stanton started in 1976. I was 15. I don't think I really looked at any porn until my early 20's. I'm not even sure where I could have gotten it when I was 15. 
 

There's a discrepancy at the end of the clip. The actor says has trouble meeting people because of his age at 69. But in the beginning of the clip, it says he started at the age of 24 in 1976 which would make him 73 now. In either case whether he's 69 or 73, he probably looks better than I do now.

I recall seeing him on the big screen at the Century Theatre on Hollywood Blvd in the early 80's. I was (am) more into Al Parker and that slightly older type, and love that he got a mention. Derrick was part of the young surfer models that surfaced in the late 70's that led to Catalina and William Higgins being so popular. And his self-description as reliable is not understated.

The interview was well done, and boyish Derrick seems to have grown into a handsome bearish mensch, one with difficult stories to tell.

Not sure about an age discrepancy. The video was shot in 2020 which would align with his age being 74 or so now.

That would explain it. But this was only uploaded to YouTube 7 days ago. And in it he refers to another video about porn stars that he did. And that one was uploaded within the last 6 months. Where did you get the 2020 info?

One of them mentioned the date in the film as being 2020.

I went back and saw what you were talking about. I'm not sure if Mr. Stanton actually  meant 2020 because right after that he said 2020's as if to correct. Also 2020 was the start of Covid Pandemic in the USA. So an interview like this might not have been possible.

We wore shoes less often in the '70s.  I remember Joan Didion writing that when she and her husband were nominated at Cannes for best script for Panic In Needle Park, she walked onto AirFrance First Class, barefoot.  Barefoot was just what we did.
