Recently I was given documents to evaluate for a charitable organization I belong to. In one case they were dialogue to be used in a radio advertisement. In the other case they were job descriptions to be used in hiring employees for the organization.
In the former case the text seemed somehow flat and did not describe our organization the way I knew it.
In the latter case the descriptions were wildly off the mark in describing what we were looking for in employees.
I questioned each set of documents and was told they had used A.I. to generate the docs. I was appalled and since I am the chair of the organization they were withdrawn. I’ve been with the organization for over 10 years and chair of the board of directors for 10 years. So I know how it works.
But still. I can see how A.I. is being used by people who are trying to take short cuts and save time in otherwise using their brains.

So is anyone tempted to use A.I. in their posts here. Just curious.

You were right to yank those drafts. That wasn’t “AI,” that was Corporate Mad Libs. AI without real context turns everything into beige oatmeal—edible, not memorable. In the right hands it’s a speed boost; in the wrong hands it’s a shortcut to sounding like nobody. I use it for brainstorms and cleanup, not for voice or judgment. Using AI isn’t cheating; outsourcing thinking is. That’s the line for.
