FbksLogCabin Posted June 4 Posted June 4 Count me among the people that misses the old Dick's Cabaret in Phoenix. I saw a post on Reddit that mentioned that a new Dick's account had popped up on Instagram last month teasing new venues in Phoenix and Las Vegas, but I wasn't able to find any other info about this other than the Instagram post. Has anyone out there heard anything? + azdr0710 1
+ Vegas_Millennial Posted June 4 Posted June 4 I certainly wish it success, but I won't hold my breath. If it opens in Las Vegas with full nudity, expect it to allow no alcohol and no gambling (laws prohibit full nudity in establishments that allow either). I don't see how it can make money without those things in the era of free online porn and hookup apps. marylander1940 1
+ purplekow Posted June 4 Posted June 4 It may fill a void in both places though I agree that these days, traditional strip joints are not as popular. In addition, the set up could allow nude stripppers in one venue with a separate entrance to another business with a different license to allow alcohol. Buy your drinks (and likely drugs) in one and then go watch the boys strut and pump.

I know of a restaurant whose license for just beer, forget full bar, was denied because they were ~40 yards from a full-nudity strip club. When the (straight) strip club ended up closing (even with the broader client base, no alcohol is a tough business model), the restaurant owner was able to get a liquor license no problem. mtaabq Posted June 4 Posted June 4 Dick’s Phoenix had no alcohol and the dancers could be hit-or-miss. Too often there were bachelorette parties when, truthfully, I just wanna hang with the guys. Although, I would welcome the opportunity to watch the guys dance in speedos and thongs. Lord, I’m old. 😀 jake1973 1
+ sniper Posted June 10 Posted June 10 So just have the guys wear g-atrings that may or may not come off in the champagne room just like the female strip clubs do.

I’ve heard, because I have no first-hand experience in Las Vegas female strip clubs, that the rule about g-strings staying on is pretty strictly enforced to protect the dancers. Clubs had problems in the past because too many drunk, aggressive men kept attempting to digitally penetrate the dancers. The law prohibiting full-bar & full nudity was passed in 1995, but one club was grandfathered in, The Palomino. Don’t ask me how they protect their dancers. Taking advantage of the same grandfathered license, The Palomino used to have a sister club that shared the same building, with mostly black male dancers and black female clientele. Apparently men were welcome, with the understanding that it was at the dancer’s discretion to perform for male clients. This sister club went under during the Great Recession, was revived under a new name, then closed for good during Covid. No, I never made a trip up there (way up in North Las Vegas) because I feared I wouldn’t really be welcome, regardless of what the website said. Of course I regret it now. What’s the worst that could happen? I get totally ignored and end up leaving, hardly the end of the world. If the revived Dick’s Cabaret chooses the full-nudity, no alcohol route, that’s a tough business model. If they go for full bar, who knows how strictly LVMPD will enforce the g-string rule. My guess is the police will be just as strict as with female clubs because if they give Dick’s a free pass, the female strip clubs will catch wind of it and complain.
