Olympic gold medalist Kyle Snyder was arrested by Columbus Police as part of a crackdown on prostitution in the city

If he would've hired a guy, chances are he wouldn't be caught. I'm shocked he was the one hiring. With that body he should be the one charging!!! Unbelievable. I'm tempted to ask some college wrestlers if they would like to make some extra $$$. They clearly don't know their worth

There's plenty of discussion about this on another forum I belong to. Here are some valid points they made:

1. If he did the hiring, there is no indication of what gender the prostitute is. It could be male or female, no one knows.

2. There is a logical argument that he indeed was the prostitute - since he was caught in the 'ring'. Usually when identified as part of the 'ring', that means the person was one of the prostitutes. If he was a client, they would refer to him as 'one of the johns' arrested.

3. No one can believe he has to pay for a blowjob, so he must've been a provider.

The article clearly states he offered to pay an undercover officer for a blow job.

So a client, NOT a provider.

As far as gay or straight. If he were gay he'd be able to get a free blowjob every day of his life.

Women are more complicated creatures and aren't so easy to get what you want / when you want as is the case on a gay hook up site, like Grindr.

Thanks for clearing that up about him being a client - the article on the other forum was heavily edited, apparently (and I dodn't read it above, figuring it was the same thing).

Actually it did not clearly mention whether or not the providers were female. We all assume they were female because the article would have gleefully told us otherwise.

Considering that he answered a rentmen.com advertisement and was, after being arrested, fined $250 for "disorderly conduct", rentmen should pay his fine.

By the way, there is speculation above that he might have engaged with a woman.   However, if you notice the film, he handed the money to an overcover cop, at which point the arrest occurred.  If there was a woman involved, why would Snyder give the male cop money for sex?

The news reports say the ads were online, but I can't find any report it was rentmen.

This arrest created so many different news reports which makes it difficult to recall each source of what was reported.  However, one ad was very clear that the advertisement was rentmen.

The arrest of Kyle Snyder should be a cautionary warning to those of us who hire from rentmen or from any other online site.

In the instant case, Snyder had the "escort" (that he thought he was hiring) come to his hotel room.  Instead of an "escort" coming to the room, it was a policeman who arrived and then asked for the money from Snyder.  Upon Snyder giving the cop the asked-for money, several other cops suddenly came to the room and promptly placed Snyder in handcuffs and told him he was under arrest for prostitution solicitation.

Further, it was heard in the video that one cop said to Snyder, It's time for your "walk of shame" which meant that Snyder had to walk down the hotel hallway (handcuffed and into the hotel lobby and (presumably into a police car, when he was taken to jail.

Any thoughts about this?  If this can happen to Snyder, it can happen to any of us who hire from online sites.

Hence, although it might take extra time in hiring an "escort", it is safer to agree to first meet the "escort" in a local bar or other public place.  If you meet the "escort" in public, it is unlikely that the cop will have several other cops waiting for you to offer the first cop money for prostitution.

This could happen to any of us.  Be careful and realize that the person who advertises and says he is an "escort" could be a cop (with additional cops in tow).

That is why I pretty much only hire providers who have come well reviewed and vetted from other members on here.

As if there weren't enough criminals, street thugs and crimes to put their efforts into stopping! This is what they do with taxpayers money in the name of the law for public safety! 🤬
