…first, apologies if this topic has been discussed before. I tried searching for various ways I might talk about this, but didn’t find anything (recent) specifically about this.

Behold. From an Instagram story of a guy I follow. My experience has been dismal getting guys on IG to reply to DMs. At least he’s honest about not replying.

But his honesty goes the next step: “I only respond here 👇🏻 “ pointing to his OnlyFans. Which made me think two things:

1. How likely am I to get a response there?

2. Instagram and other socials are simply for driving traffic to his OF, which in turn makes money.

Together, those two thoughts make me think that there’s little-to-no hope that this guy is serious about providing a service but rather is seeing thirsty guys as a source of income. Full stop. That might be my cynicism, but it’s how I feel.

What are your thoughts? If any…How many guys actually have quality interactions in this kind of setup through OF? And I have a hard time believing that it ever becomes something worthwhile. The guys that advertise personalized content on their OF also make me really skeptical. I would much rather pay for time together than pay for mediocre personalized porn after a paywall…

My first thought is what makes you think he's actually willing to provide in person meetings?  Unless he has an ad on Rentmen or the like or somehow has a coded wording on his Only Fans or Instagram pages that indicate he is willing to meet men for hire, then he's actually offering the service he's advertising: You can ogle his pictures on Instagram and you can ogle even more explicit content on Only Fans.  Just because he says he "answers" messages on OF doesn't mean he's answering them to arrange meetings with men.

Exactly. It appears he’s trying to direct traffic to his OF which is monetised. If he’s available for hire he’d definitely not want to discuss that on his OF profile because that will get his OF banned. I get guys messaging me on my OF profile asking about booking me and I simply can’t reply because of the risk. All I can say is ‘send me a DM via X’.

In addition to that, the point I was trying to make is that there's no clear indication this guy is even available for hire.  I think it's important for prospective clients to remember that just because someone has an IG or OF page doesn't mean they are available for meetings.

You totally ignored point 1, which frankly, was the more salient point. Strike my concern about hiring or any physical meetup.

People always fixate on the less important point or detail.

So, to focus on what I care more about….

Say, I go to his OF. I pay. I send a message. How likely am I to get a response there?

Doubtfully. 🤷🏼‍♂️

If I wanted to waste the money, I’d test my theory.

I'd think you would get responses to OF dms. That does lead to a different question, who is responding? Is it him or is a manager or other third-party?

Will have to look at that tomorrow. Add it to the daily to-do list.

But…next question: why do I want to pay to DM a guy that I’m not DMing? 🤔

I guess I'm still unclear what you seek to get out of DMing a guy like this.  Is it just the fantasy of having an online conversation with a hot guy?  If so, as indicated above you may very well not be exchanging messages with the guy in question anyway.

I've always ignored attempts to lure me into conversations on Only Fans.  There's one guy I used to subscribe to who was relentless with come ons like, "I know it's late, but what are you up to right now?"  Like the guy really wanted to know what I was up to.

I don’t like your attitude…or condescension.

Read it.

Why would we want to support anyone who takes advantage of such an exploitive system? This article just sealed the deal for me never to send a cent to anyone for OF…for anything – DMs or otherwise.

Here’s the facts, for the avoidance of misunderstanding about OnlyFans.

1. If you ask an Onlyfans model on the platform about hiring them they won’t respond. Why? Because it will result in their Onlyfans being shut down. The platform won’t support that kind of thing (hypocritical yes…but that’s their policy).

2. Guys on Onlyfans are marketing their content. It’s designed to get you to subscribe to watch. Just like advertising for any other product. Caveat emptor applies. Ensure you buy with your head not your cock.

3. The person interacting with you in messages probably won’t be the actual model you watch, especially if they’re a very popular model. Do you really think these guys sit around all day replying to the same messages? They outsource it to a management company which uses people (and AI) to reply.

4. There’s nothing wrong with guys producing content on Onlyfans. It has liberated people who want to make porn (or other content) from the control of studios. Now the model is in charge of what they make, what they charge and when it’s published etc. They’ll succeed or fail depending on how well they connect with their audience.

How do I know? I make Onlyfans (and Justforfans) content and have done for years. I get regular contact from managers /agents asking if I want to use them to help me with it. I decline them because I have a guy who does some of that work (editing and uploading/scheduling). I respond myself to messages from fans because it’s manageable for me (I’m not one of the big models 😢 although I’m in the top 10% on Onlyfans and the top 2% on Justforfans - you can imagine there’s a very long tail of models with only a handful of subscribers and a small number of models in the top 1% with subscribers in the tens of thousands).

I find doing the films is fun, I like that it gives me some creative outlet and the guys I film with are almost always really nice and interesting people. But it’s different to seeing clients in person and I prefer that. With a client you can focus on the client 100%, whereas when making a film you’re thinking about camera angles, what will look good and who is doing what. The final edit looks great but you should remember the boring bits have been edited out:  the less flattering views, the part after sex where his cock wasn’t clean 💩! and where someone had to stop to pee. All that messy stuff that happens in a real session is edited out. You’re watching something that isn’t real. Enjoy it but don’t get drawn in to thinking it’s real, and that by engaging with the model or hiring him you’ll get exactly that experience.

So…not to split hairs, but as it seems we are to justify DMs and who’s doing it.

Untitleddesign.thumb.jpeg.439d3dc4ccd6e7861cd0e668a23d2bf5.jpeg

Forgive me for thinking the word “I” means “I.”

Instagram DMs – I don’t respond

OnlyFans DMs – I do respond

The juxtaposition of these two is intentional to say that. The intellectual gymnastics to defend not responding anyhow on OF is a bit laughable. Does he mean what he says or is he lying? As for me, I’m happy enough to believe he’s a liar  – and frankly, find it more believable that he is and is just taking advantage of guys who aren’t discerning enough to understand that. I don’t like people who take advantage of other people and I’m not going to support them or a platform that allows them to do that.

I (here I mean me personally – not my secretary etc.) am not paying someone else to pose as someone who says “I respond to you here.”

Why is anyone still talking about hiring? I said moving on from that. It was dumb of me to bring that up as it was less about that for me. It was about just how likely it was to get a response from this guy if you in fact subscribe to his OF. As is clear, through the circuitous, verbose apologetics here, highly unlikely.

To the unmerited point of why I might want to DM the guy – he addressed it. I didn’t just decide, “Hey…be nice to chat with the guy.” He proactively posted on his IG about DMs and DMs only on his OF. So the topic was raised by him.

By all this, you all have simply validated my cynicism. He likely won’t respond and is driving traffic to his OF. I’m not interested in promoting or supporting a liar. He doesn’t answer DMs. Full stop.

I second the comments in your last paragraph. I’ve been filmed a couple of times by a provider who is on JFF and it is indeed fun, but the stopping and starting is distracting as well as deflating, if you get my drift.  When I’ve been with him without filming it has been more enjoyable for both of us.
