Will be visiting Rio club 117 sauna for the first time. How do I identify which guys are garotos? And how do I initiate the transaction with them? Any advice appreciated. Thanks!

I find that they will often ask you what you are looking for and start the conversation that way. Don't be afraid to use a translator if your Portugese/Espanol isn't the best.

When I arrive I usually just grab a drink and sit at a table myself and see who is there already as they pass by or come to meet me.

You'll find many of the garotos socializing together and then will make the rounds to some of the tables to introduce themselves to you and several will just be standing in the hallways reaching out to you or hoping you'll brush by them and say hello. It's quite easy actually. Over the years I've only seen a couple guys that I even questioned whether they were working or not so that shouldn't be so difficult to identify the garotos. Have fun!

To be fair, they’re not the fat 50 year old black, Asian or Latino guys either.

Jose's superb post contained everything that ttm269 required.

And we can do without the blatant age and racial pseudo cynicism that you posted under the guise of some very sad humor.

When I made my first venture to "Mother Brazil" and her culture along with her male counterparts, the men, who were at this site at that time, helped me tremendously in my meandering the saunas.  From that time onward,  I was fortunate to have visited the country and its various parts on 12 occasions.

What’s “cynical” about my response, or the one that I was actually responding to? You have any empirical evidence that there are fat, 50+ year old garotos de programa of any race, color or ethnicity working at Club 117 or Point 202 in Rio?

I’m a resident here. You say you’ve been here 12 times. When is the last time you’ve actually been inside a working boy sauna in Rio? The clients — we clients — are the out-of-shape, older schlubs — and with very few exceptions. And that transcends race. The median age of the clients in these Brazilian working saunas has got to be around 60 — at the bare minimum, 55. And that’s actually not a bad thing. It’s only bad if you think aging is a terrible thing. I happen to think aging sure beats the alternative! And who else is going to pay these boys bills? iPhones and nice new tennis shoes are expensive in Brazil — and they sure don’t buy themselves!

@hornyfrog, you must be new around here. The poster you’re responding to here Axiom hasn’t been to what he constantly calls “Mother Brazil” since The Truman Administration but still posts about his few times that he visited, with his sparse, outdated information.

And then like clockwork, he will add the “I hope to return to Mother Brazil one day soon!” Hope springs eternal!

I'll never be able to go-but just for general info-is it possible to find muscular guys who are 1) passivo, 2) willing to deep passionate kiss, and 3) either not smoke or at least not smell of smoke/smoker's breath.

whats the going rate at 202 or 117 these days?

Get your best information at gayguides.com. Their Latin American forums will answer all of your questions.

I've paid between 50 and 400 reais at the saunas. 400 being an exception as I was almost in love.
