My friend last posted on October 14th, 2014, so ten years now. Jackhammer91406 started a thread called Friday Funnies, later saying:

I started this thread 4 years ago after I was diagnosed with Leukemia. I really felt like I wanted to concentrate on things that made me laugh and feel good. I never dreamed the thread would go on this long or have nearly 40,000 views.

Well, now it's got a lot more views and does indeed serve as a memorial to one of our finest members. RIP indeed.

Jackhammer was a wonderful and rather amiable individual.  ...met him on one of my trips to Rio de Janeiro.  When I returned to the States and en route to my lodging while spending some time with relatives in the San Diego area, I stopped by his place and spent some time reflecting on our time in our favorite city and other topics.  He's been missed but remembered.

Lucky indeed. You and he were lucky to have caring friends with long memories and an eye for the funny

The last time I had dinner with him, he showed me a photo he had taken of the burial site he had bought for himself. He said he wanted to be sure he would always have a view of Dodger Stadium. (He was a big Dodgers' fan.)

Well no one is perfect.  Still, he is probably enjoying this year's victory
