Tuesday, September 5, 2023:  The six ladies of The View return for Season 27. For the past 3 seasons, the show has remained the #1 daytime talk show among all syndicated and network daytime talk shows, averaging just under 3M viewers.

Whoopi Goldberg continues as moderator Monday - Thursday for her 17th season (it's been said she's contracted until 2025), and Joy Behar continues as a panelist Tuesday - Thursday and Friday moderator (she's been with the show for 25 seasons, stepping away from 2013 and 2014 when she was fired, but returning in 2015).  Sarah Haines, Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin also are returning cohosts. What is new for Season 27 is the set and the table which the hosts gather around each day.

Ok fellow VIEWers, let the conversation begin for Season 27 ...

Ok fellow VIEWers, let the conversation begin for Season 27 ...

I watched some of today's show and found that it couldn't retain my interest.  I am sick of #45 up to the hilt and wish person's in charge would begin to "keep him out of the news" 24/7.  So I was encouraged to change channels and tune in to "The Cameron Hall Show" on CBS or NBC.  I liked her beginning of a new.

...did like the new mugs that they received from the creator of them.

I will continue to keep in tune with "The View" and will manage to switch channels or turn off my television completely at the time that it is broadcast.

I found the premiere episode to be underwhelming. Maybe because Whoopi was out with COVID ?

I didn't mind the discussion on 45 (he's gong to be in the news cycle for a very long time) , but the discussion was lackluster at best. It's as if they didn't have much different to say now than they did before they went on their month long hiatus. The rest of the show proved to be just as lackluster - it was like they needed a longer vacation and recharge. Even their discussion on 'Burning Man' was a mess.

I've tried watching 'Tamryn Hall' a number of times. I just don't like her. I find her very condescending to the guests she has on. She doesn't come across as a likeable host to me.

Whoopi's out for the week with COVID which means...

Joy moderates all week. She's fine as a moderator on Fridays, but all week ? She doesn't seem to be enjoying it. Therefore...

Anna Navarro tries her hardest to take over the discussions and moderate. But...

Sunny Hostin puts a stop to that. She's not going to let Anna (whom she spars with often) get to moderate. No way !

Anna needs to learn etiquette. She needs all the attention, so she will say some of the most ridiculous things for the attention to turn to her while another host is speaking. She contributes little.

With the writers and actors strikes still going on (since May 1 !) there having a tough time booking guests. NO ONE will come on to promote their new movie, new TV show, etc.  So they've resorted to showing movie trailers and booking cookbook authors and lawyers / clients to fill their time slots. Unfortunately, the hosts are woefully unprepared to hold an interesting conversation with these guests, since their researchers and writers are on the picket line (the hosts are doing their own research and writing their own questions).

This has been a painful week to watch. Hoping next week is better.

Whoopi returned yesterday, and the show is still just blah.  Though there was a 'tense moment' between guest Matthew McConaghey (who looks about 15 years older than he actually is) and Joy Behar. Sunny smoothed things over after a quick commercial break.

Matthew McConaughey had a tense moment with Joy Behar on 'The View' after the cohost insinuated he was 'anti-gun.'

Three weeks in, and this season is horrible. Maybe the writer's strike is really having an effect on the quality of this show, after 5 months ? And can someone please tell Ana Navarro she is NOT a comedian ? Her jokes fall flat every time she utters one. It's going to be a loooooooooooooong season, but I'll stick it out. Listening to Sunny's hypocrisy every other day is worth it.

The past two days, the writers have been back and the women are now reading of professionally written cue cards and monitors and...WHAT A DIFFERENCE.  That fire is back, and the show is re-energized.

The season is wrapping up for it's "mid-season" break in a few weeks, and so far this season has been rather dull and disorganized. It seemed better when they were ad-libbing and had no writers.

The producers really need to reconsider having Sarah and Anna on the panel. Sarah is like a fish out of water on most serious topics (she's like the little kid sitting at the adult table wanting to participate, but saying a whole lot of nothing). Somehow, she believes she's the mental-health and gay issues expert on each topic. It's nice when the others correct her or worse - question what she's saying (and she gets lost in her answer).  Anna is good for one thing - going head-to-head with Sunny. As another Latina legal-eagle on the panel, she steals the spotlight from Sunny (always a good thing). Unfortunately, she also thinks she's a comedienne - she's not. It seems all her conversations and answers in Hot Topics always revert to 'Drag Queens'.

One thing which puzzles me is why Sunny has to read 'a legal note' every time there is a discussion about a politician or celebrity who has been alleged, charged or indicted with a crime. Other shows talk about the same topics on these notables, and none of them follow their commentary or discussion with 'legal notes'.  Is this a gimmick for Sunny ?

The View is the #1 daytime talk show. It's not that difficult to get that title when your main competition is Karamo and Jennifer Hudson. The days when daytime talk shows were watchable ended when Oprah and Donahue left the airwaves.
What is important is how The View does against its competition. And that is no contest. The Price is Right crushes The View in viewership (no pun intended) among all households and especially among women aged 25-49. That's the key demographic for daytime TV ratings.

How daytime broadcast performed in Total Viewers, Households, Women 18-49 and Women 25-54 during the week of May 27-31, 2024.

The View's ratings are on a slow decline.  Americans have more important things to do than watch five crazy women spew conspiracy theories. Behar is paranoid delusional because of her TDS mental illness insanity that begins with useful idiocy .

To me, the show is of equal caliber with George Suckacockulous and his weekend show. Vapid, ill informed, and highly partisan. They all stink.

Bozo always thought it was odd that the three main hosts are named Joy, Whoopie, and Sunny!  It follows long standing Marxist tradition of naming things the exact opposite of what they are.
Those three loud mouth yentas (four when Ana Navarro is around) and their viewers are stellar examples of the chronic condition called Hyperchromatosis X.   Way too many X chromosomes.
One is about right.

As the election nears, you can tell their desperation by the level of stupidity in their fear mongering. For the life of me, I fail to see why anyone would waste more than a minute of their time watching those cackling hens. Their viewers need to get a life of their own.

They’re like a panel of women they snatched from an insane asylum who all have PMS at the same time.

Is there a correlation between cancellation of The View and global warming? I suppose it might reduce farts from an overfed herd of heifers.

This being Pride month, Bozo takes pride in the fact that he has never watched any of the episodes for more than a minute. And that one minute is because Bozo is a glutton for punishment who can't look away from a gruesome trainwreck. Even though Bozo rarely watches it, and even then for only a minute, the panelists are still hard to ignore as these hateful hags spew their venom all over the internet.

The more they shriek the harder Bozo laughs.

Forgot to mention (too late to edit my original thread)..
Didn't two of the four witches of the east side promise to leave the country if a certain candidate won the 2016 election?  Just more lies on top of more lies.

Unfortunately, even with their sagging ratings, and getting crushed by the competition (people bidding on refrigerators), The View will not be cancelled over low ratings. If that were true, it would have been gone long ago. It continues because it's supported by dark money keeping it afloat. Kinda like the WNBA. Never made a dime, still in business.

Behar and the hens will continue with their mindless and hateful banter as long as their dark money support continues. Money lost, but hey, this is America. People can spend money on whatever.

there’s just too much tv now - and they are all competing for a finite audience with ever more outrageous antics, guests & hosts

24/7 news cycles don’t help - it leads to sensationalism , stories out of no stories, hyper-partisanship & over-saturation.  if watching one of the “news” networks regardless of POV (MSNBC, CNN, Fox, etc) - the same stories are recycled by different hosts w a slightly different spin yet essentially the same message.  Those news channels want to keep you watching & the best way is when they can create fear & outrage.

any information passively received by watching tv or video is telling you what to think.  read instead from a real source & think for yourself

politics is boring conversation & wasted time - the only thing you can do is vote.  all the rest is bullshit

THE VIEW is really not for you. Time to move on to something else.

Although The View is actually the highest rated daytime show, that's damning with faint praise because their ratings and number of viewers are still rock-bottom, just slightly less awful than the competition.  I never thought about the dark money angle, but that makes total sense.  Given the hugely inflated salaries the ladies are getting, someone has to be subsidizing the show with monster cash.  Hey, like you said, this is America -- if you wanna flush your money down the toilet, it is your 100% your right to do so.

The View should be retitled as The Victims because all that henhouse hell of a show ever rants about is victimhood:  left, right & center.  I can't say I've ever tuned into the show, but I've seen way too many clips of Sunny Hostin's perpetual tirades about supremacy this and oppression that and privilege other thing, all while backup singers Goldberg & Behar chime in their support.

Obviously there's a market out there for such dreck because waaaaaaaaaay too many Americans love their victimhood.  Nonetheless, that this orgy of self-indulgence has gone on for 27 seasons is, uh, impressive.

I only watch the View when I'm at the dentist or doctor's office and have the misfortune of seeing it on the TV set in the waiting room. To me it sounds like a bunch of chickens all clucking in a hen house. That's a stereotypical description but that's literally what they sound like. They constantly interrupt and talk over each other. They perpetuate the stereotype of catty, gossipy, shallow women.  Joy Behar has dumb written all over her face.   Vile and biased trash.

Oh! I am SO surprised you don't like her! 😄🤪

Gee, when I have taken part in discussions with groups of five in my life, people have always waited their turns, then raised their hands and waited to be called on before speaking.

While drinking tea and eating watercress sandwiches, of course!

Chris Christie was a guest on Friday and managed to shut down Anna ('You're not Barrack Obama') and Sunny within minutes.  Can he be a regular host on the panel, please ?
