Pretty sure that this has been discussed but I would love some input,3 different providers in the past 48 hour requested a $100 deposit to send via venmo in order to secure a  time with them.Thoughts gentleman? Is this truly a new thing?

It seems to be a growing trend, especially when it's a first time appointment. I don't care for it, and try not to take it personally. But it's happening more and more. Happy Hunting.

No, no, no. The only thing which it's OK to put up-front is any amount the escort needs to get to you. Even then, when it's been more than using my Lyft account to get the guy to me, I would require the escort send me a photo of his ID before sending any significant sum.

I can’t speak for anyone else, but all my new clients I ask to send deposits. People can say no all they want, but like I said in another thread: many clients either want us to host or even if we go to them:

I have outlined on my site the deposit is to cover the time/expense to set up accommodations or travel for an outcall. Non of that is without upfront cost for me.

I’m glad more providers are asking for deposits. I hope everyone starts asking for one. Uber drivers don’t go anywhere with a payment. Amazon don’t send out products without payment. Verizon doesn’t mail out phones without payment. Movie theaters collect their payment before you get to see it.

Why should we shoulder the burden of booking hotel rooms and driving across town with no guarantee? And for every client that has been “scammed”, I can multiple 20-30X that amount that it’s happened to me. That would be foolish to NOT take a deposit.

Granted: I have different options for deposits from $25 up to $100.

it’s been discussed ad nauseam - beat into the ground & left for dead

want to provide a deposit and get ripped off ?  go for it, it’s your money, or it was your money until you did something stupid, like a deposit

otherwise - NO

again - NO

still don’t understand - NO

I second this.
Clients: if you’re not comfortable, don’t. Providers: you have every right to ask.

Nobody is obliged to pay a deposit, no matter how much sense it makes, no matter how fair it is. At the same time, no one can tell a provider how to run his business.

Please, can we all stop talking about this? Do it if you want. Don’t do it if you don’t want. Don’t complain about providers asking deposits. Don’t complain about clients who don’t pay deposits.

Everyone, respectively (and respectfully): MOVE ON!
