NETFLIX - The Diplomat

A new look at work-based relationships set against the highest levels of Foreign Service at a tricky time. 
Well written, well cast and has just enough humor. She’s been working a long time, but Keri Russell seems almost new to me in this part. Great chemistry with Rufus Sewell (like that’s a chore…) and I recommend it!

Indeed fabulous series. And a great bookend to Russell’s The Americans series where she is a Russian spy, which I highly recommend.

There is an Amazon show by the same name "The Diplomat" that plays out in Barcelona - not related but also quite good - I am on the 2nd episode and it is good so far. More of a British flavor.

I just saw "The Diplomat" preview on IMDb. Looks interesting! It kind of reminds me of an excellent mini-series I saw years ago called "The State Within" 2006 TV Mini-Series.

It is brilliant. More twists and turns than the Singapore Grand Prix circuit. My Rufus daddy issues are back and fighting with my Allison Janney adoration. 😆

The Diplomat is a high quality show for sure. I saw The Americans, and I thought Keri Russell was terrific. She's also great in The Diplomat, but I had a hard time buying Rufus Sewell as her husband. I did not like Sewell in this part. I thought they lacked chemistry. I also hated other casting choices in this show. I didn't buy Ato Essandoh. I thought he was terribly miscast and annoying as all hell. I hated T'Nia Miller and her whole escapade with Sewell. Made my skin scrawl. I had to stop watching.

I'm glad other people can look past these things. Bad casting decisions always seem to rub me wrong. I know casting is not easy. I felt this show deserved better choices.

Im looking forward to the West Wing reunion casting in the next season. Loved Allison Janney and Bradley Whitford in the West Wing and it'll be fun to see them in the Diplomat.

I'm excited too, and though I think Alyson Janey is a good actress, she's a bit too corny for me, so I wish she weren't in such a significant role this season.  Oh well.  Should be fantastic.

Being haled into such fast moving plot lines it’s hard to predict events in advance.

The general twist I saw coming, the particular persons involved, I did not, nor were there clues to exactly who it was. I have bing watched the first three seasons over the last 4 days and I am looking forward to Season 4.  I am sorry they are making me dislike my favorite character, though the British Spy love interest is very hot, they had every opportunity to give use some nice r ated nudity with him and they disappointed.  I did not need to see the Prime Minister fucking his wife though her emotionlessly droning "more vigorous" was pretty funny.  

I know they have a Season 4 coming up.
