Brent33 Posted February 22 Posted February 22 Still no news? I hope everything is okay. Is there anything similar to this in the LA area?
Pd1_jap Posted February 23 Posted February 23 I don't know of any thing like it. If anyone knows of another event like it, I would like to check it out. captainbuddy 1

Emailed him a few weeks ago and said still on holds until further notice since it's become unsustainable.
acks0104 Posted February 23 Author Posted February 23 It's really unfortunate that LA just doesn't have any options at all considering how massive of a city it is. I think doing quarterly shows would make a lot more sense than monthly shows because if it's the same guys showing up, not everyone will want to go to that type of event 12 times a year. Doing a show every few months would draw out a lot of people though because it's more of an event. BuzzLiteQueer, Chidude and Pd1_jap 1 2
MaybeMaybeNot Posted February 24 Posted February 24 (edited) A major industry in the city is withering--entertainment. Entertainment supports so many side businesses, not too mention paying wages that allows for people to dine out, attend theatre, go to strip clubs. Adonis isn't the only business feeling the pinch. I had a seasoned restaurant manager as my Lyft driver, telling me his salary has dropped 80K since the strikes and never returned. I see posts on IG for a KCL Show. Not sure if it is the exact same: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DVHhyE5klPl/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== Edited February 24 by MaybeMaybeNot
RacerXLA Posted February 24 Posted February 24 The KCL shows look like they're full of women in the audience. Has anyone here been? Do they have private rooms or any similar?
Pd1_jap Posted February 24 Posted February 24 If I could find a few investors, is be willing to setup an event.

The problem is finding over a dozen hot, quality men. Even after years of this Matt has dealt with tons of flakes and other issues outside of money.

The problem in LA isn't the lack of Adonis bodies it's that LA culture in general is very flaky and as soon as a better offer comes up people bail. Another factor is quality clientele. A couple dancers told me the clientele were stingy and creepy. Dancers want to be part of a high-end event with high-end clients. From the perspective of the dancers it's quite demoralizing to go to a sketchy event only to not even make enough money to cover gas. As with any event for gay men, organizing is a circus.

We must convene a meeting of the Saturday Evening Fine Arts Club to bring out the best in patrons. Edited March 20 by jeezifonly lightdagger, BuzzLiteQueer, Pd1_jap and 3 others 6

Then why would you even talk about "being willing to set up an event" of your own if you're claiming the issue is LA culture and clientele? You think that suddenly all these rich clients are going to pop out of the sky and throw money at the hot men you specifically know?

A great many problems in life can be solved by throwing money at it. 😜 BuzzLiteQueer 1
MattDaniel Posted Friday at 09:32 PM Posted Friday at 09:32 PM I would go three or four times a year, always had a great time - but I can see the issues for clientele and the dancers. My unsolicited two cents: Set it up as a club and not a night. Monthly dues cover event costs and a flat dancer appearance fee. Discounts on dancer OnlyFans memberships. Private slack or other virtual community. Client dress code at events. It has a dirty warehouse vibe, it needs an exclusive community vibe for the LA crowd. SoHo Strip House.
