Will my family and friends find out if I open an Onlyfans?

1. What is your family doing watching that content on OnlyFans?

2. First be in a position where you don't rely on your family for shelter, employment, or financial support.  Then do the OnlyFans.  If they find out and get mad, so what?  Then at least you know how they react instead of worrying about it, and if they react badly you deal with it and move on to your chosen family (friends).

In my culture homosexuality is the biggest stigma and I'm only out to my inmediate family anyways.

You are already out to your immediate family.

I assume you live in New York City.

I assume you're an adult in your mid-30s, from what you stated on previous questions (sometimes late 30s, sometimes mid 30s).

Therefore... My advice is to forget the negative aspects of your extended family's culture.  It's time to melt into the Melting Pot culture that is America and especially is New York City.  Do what you want to do... Worry more about the ramifications of having sex online for money (whether homosexual or heterosexual or solo) from prospective employers than about extended family members' stigma against homosexuality.

But how? Half of my immediate family can't speak English. How they will find out anyways?

It depends what you do to set it up, and how you promote it.  It also depends on how your family and friends use their computers and phones with social media.  If you promote your OF account on other social media like Twitter, it increases the odds someone you know in your private life will stumble across it.

You should consider using a completely different email account to set up an OF account and any other related accounts.  You might also get a separate phone from the one you use with family and friends so the social media algorithms are less likely to connect it to your private life.  If you use Twitter to promote your OF, consider not posting anything that shows your face clearly.  Don't post anything from a location they'd recognize you in, either.

Even then, there's always a chance someone is going to find you somehow, so if that possiblity is too scary for you then you should avoid doing OF until you have an appropriate distance from them.

In order to be successful on only fans, you have to attract an audience through social media. The goal is to have as much exposure as possible. In my experience, and I’ve known dozens of only fans guys, you can’t manage the desire to attract fans with the desire to keep your privacy.  Every single one of them has had someone share it with their family.

...and if you do OF without showing face, you won't get as many subscribers. Personally I never subscribe to OF channels or give tips to Chaturbate performers who don't show faces.

Phatrabbitkiller is one of the most popular content maker on OF and he has never showed his face voluntarily. He only showed his face after he was outed by someone searching the US trade mark. The trademark registration showed his real name, and the name search lead to some Getty images from a red carpet event in Hollywood.

You're asking us if we can tell the future for you, and we can't. Everything you ever do has some kind of risk. You could become the biggest porn star in the world and your family might never know. You could make one private video and it leaks all across the internet for the world to see. None of us can tell you which will happen.

You're the only one who can figure out if the risk is worth the money. If yes, then do it. If no, then don't

It sounds like you REALLY want to do this. First you ask the simple question. Then you tell us many of your family members don’t speak English so it should be OK. Next, you tell us you don’t care if your co-workers know, a result that could cause all sorts of problems for you. Go ahead and do it. But know that there’s a pretty good chance that someone you know or work with will see it and photos will be distributed - especially if you’re hot! I had a great experience with an escort a few years back who thought he could keep it secret. Word got out in his home town and boy did he get major grief. Damn! He stopped escorting. 😫

It’s quite likely they will find out. I think @Coolwave35said that the whole idea of doing porn for subscribers is to promote it. He’s right, it’s pointless to create content and then hide it away so you’d need to promote it on Twitter, put clips of the movies on free porn sites like xvideos.com to drive traffic to your Onlyfans. It is possible to film Onlyfans content where you don’t show your face, there’s plenty of guys doing that but if you have a distinctive body or any tattoos or something then people who know you well might recognise you.

You seem very keen to get into sex work of some kind, because you ask a lot of questions about it. When I started it was through doing soft porn shoots and I got to know people in the field who I trusted. I then progressed to doing more explicit porn and escorting / massage but always following advice from sensible people that I could see were successful.

There’s a lot of people in the industry who would take advantage of your naivety if you aren’t careful. Find someone who you can trust who will guide you.

Thanks for your input.

Why do you think I'm naive? What kind of advantage? Interesting that you mention this.

The simple answer to your question is "Yes, probably eventually." Responses suggesting you not show your face or wear disguises are hopefully being made in jest. You wouldn't make any money if you didn't show your face or if you wore a disguise. If your friends and family finding out is your "biggest fear," then you shouldn't do it. That being said, my domestic partner did porn movies a decade ago, and his family never found out. But his family not finding out wasn't his biggest fear, and OnlyFans is even more public. My advice: bad idea for you.
