What is "a cute sore throat"? Whenever I've had a sore throat, no one ever commented on whether my throat was attractive or not.

First, you should make sure you get tested frequently for STDs - and it should include a throat swab.  
Second, if you have not had the HPV shot, you should get one ASAP - as a precaution

Third, it is probably just the unusual action of intense sucking. You will likely adapt - just like most people have to train themselves to ignore the gag reflex. 
If the problem persists, visit an ENT specialist.

I sometimes experience mild sore throat symptoms (not acute as I assume you meant) after deepthroating cock for a prolongued session. I goes away after a day or two. 

I got gonorrhea of the throat a couple of times in my life and that results in a sore throat as well so if the symptoms persist get tested. The cure is relatively painless. You also need to alert your sexual partners, as you would appreciate having them inform you if they were infected.

bad sore throat is also one of the top symptoms of the current covid strains that are prevalent. So you might want to get a Covid test. Could be unrelated to the oral sex.

Some people are probably going to disagree with me, but let me preface this with I am a RN and used to work in a STD clinic.   I sometimes get a sore throat after giving a blow job and it’s when I do it on an uncut guy that isn’t freshly showered.  I know there gets to be a lot of bacteria under the fore skin throughout the day so I think it’s simply that.  This was all pre COVID as well.  The docs also told females to make sure to tell their guys to wash their dicks before entering their vagina because of the bacteria on the dick and could help prevent bacterial vaginosis.

A slight sore throat after giving head isn't necessarily something serious.  If you're like me and live alone any contact with the outside world can give you cold like symptoms.  Not to mention I've always had issues with my tonsils.  It could be just your body responding to his germs.  However if it lasts longer than a few days or gets inflamed or swollen then its time to get your throat swabbed at an urgent care.  Happen to me before...mine got worse and I found out I had oral gonorrhoea.

A shot in the butt cheek and some antibiotics had me like new in no time.
