Sensual Massage vs Erotic

What is the difference between sensual and erotic?

There's some clients that think sensual is massaging very soft, almost like tickling, and others think/inquire that sensual means 2nd, 3rd, and even a home run.

I suppose I should stick to asking prospective clients what they really mean and want.

the question is a perennial one here in the forum and has never been answered to everybody's agreement!.....using discretion, you're correct to just ask clients what they mean or want and decide whether that's what you want to provide

You  can always describe what services you provide under sensual or erotic.  Makes it easier for everyone.  I'm personally fond of when a provider offers a bit of a menu with pricing and what they include under the sensual,  erotic  and erotic plus if that's even an option.  Sometimes I'm only in the mood for a HE with mutual touch etc and other times it would be nice to take it as far as the provider is willing to go. I hate being upcharged in person and I may not be in the mood for anything more. Rather know up front,  agree to expectations or options up front etc and it helps make sure I have enough cash on me for what's on the menu

I agree.  That is a pet peeve of mine.  All services and rates should be known in advance.  Nothing worse than an escort surprising you with an additional fee during the massage.  Completely kills the mood for me.

This has been discussed over and over on the forum. You can find a LOT of different opinions if you look up the various conversation threads.

The answer to the question is: THERE IS NO SINGLE ANSWER.

Everyone has a different opinion.

What the majority do tend to agree upon is that "sensual" does not necessarily include any sexual components but that "erotic" should guarantee at minimum enough to arouse and "release" the customer.  The particulars of what should be guaranteed on the erotic side vary widely.

To toss my two cents your way: I expect a happy ending for an erotic massage and I don't expect a happy ending for a sensual massage.

The official massage regulator is in charge of massage descriptions and content. If you’ve booked a sensual massage and didn’t get the standard release then you can complain to the regulator for compensation.
The regulator requires that a sensual massage includes at least 5 strokes of the client’s cock (4 is too few since they could have been accidental brushes) and his balls are tickled including touch on the perineum. The release must include at least 3 spurts. Pre cum leakage is not sufficient. If your massage failed to meet these minimum standards it’s considered eligible for compensation. Applicants should send their claim (including pictures, any witness statements and the full details of their masseur) to Regulations Unit Bureau, Trading Under-delivery Group, or RUBTUG@MassageRegulator.com where their claim will be reviewed. If they’re successful someone from the regulator’s office will send instructions on how to self release.

Maybe describe what YOU mean by sensual or erotic.  I always ask before I hire.  One provider I hire from time to time has his own definition.  His version of "sensual" is definitely my definition of EROTIC!!! 🤣😂

I know for some the mystery of what might or might not happen is part of the appeal but I like to be up front about what I’m expecting. This also gives the masseur a chance to set his limits and also to quote me an accurate price.

The mystery is what really turns me on if I'm attracted to a client and the vibe is right.

Even if a client is really good looking, whether he sends me pictures or if I look his name up on social media, I will be completely turned off if he asks beforehand because I feel obligated to perform a certain way and I don't if we'll have chemistry. My dick is supposed to get hard and stay hard if I'm not attracted to the client and am not into it? I'm just not that type of guy.  I joke that I'm not an equal opportunity whore.

Then we wouldn’t be a good match :)
