That could easily change however. The sheriff is clearly using these operations as easy publicity going after people the voters in his county will have little sympathy for. Helping real victims of sex trafficing is a mere justification. They say they found a few trafficing victims, but a tiny fraction of the people they arrested. The press conference where the sheriff singles out the people they caught and identifies if they were married or where they worked is definately intended to pander to the voters in that county. Assuming the cops were posing as escorts of legal age, targeting the guys who respond does nothing to find trafficers or their victims. Neither does targeting sex workers who are operating independently. Sadly sex work between consenting adults is illegal in most of the US and law enforcement operations like this keeps the stigma going. This should be a reminder to know a bit about the jurisidiction before working or hiring there. Polk County in Florida, I used to live there briefly. Was actually the last county I lived in Florida. I probably only got 1 actual client in the area, but all other times I would go to Orlando, Tampa, etc. That area is just nasty and trashy to begin with. I don’t even know how these people even got trapped in the first place. But that’s also why I have turned down 2 “invites” to come to Florida this year. I just refuse to go back, unless like in November: it’s a special commercial event that I’m getting paid to attend, and have all accommodations paid. But to go and try to “tour” for clients: absolutely not. Unless I have one booked in advance for an overnight or weekend. The people in ”leadership/power” in Florida, are just trash. Dirty, filthy, nasty trash lol. And then business there is less than what it should be because half are afraid of getting “stung” by shit like this. It’s the absolute worse. I hoped we were headed in the right direction with criminal Justice reform, it seems to still be “held up”. If we are going to give so much reverence on national television to the Queen of England, than for fucks sake: at least take into account that she never placed bans on individual sex work.
