I had to cancel 3 regulars I had upcoming appointments for, since I found out I had Covid last Thursday. Only mild symptoms for me and one day of fatigue (thank goodness for vaccines)... but for each cancellation, I sent them their full fee via apple pay/ zelle. They seemed appreciative. For me, it's important to maintain the reliability and dependability of being a regular.

This is most ethical behavior. I wish more had the same integrity. Getting Covid is hard news, but at the end of the day it’s not the provider’s fault nor should they have to lose out. I had a client who cancelled the day of claiming Covid from a party he went to the night before, that someone apparently said they had tested positive. So he cancelled “so he could get tested”. Which of course he did. Still waiting to get cancellation fee.

I assume this could be why many providers only accept bookings from people who are “ready now”, but I’m not in a position where I can work that way all the time. Plus even that isn’t any surefire way to prevent last minute flakes.

I decided I need to up my deposit to HALF the session price going forward. People cancel and leave me hanging, and I’m not just “available” 24/7 or on short notice, so that often leaves me not able to fill in apppintments right away. I’m just so tired of being lead on and my time wasted and then being short on money I relied on to take care of other things.

The amount of games and BS is become highly discouraging and disappointing. It’s almost nobody can be relied on. I haven’t had an actual appointment follow thru now in over a week. And I don’t even count that because the guy was someone I blocked 2 years ago, and he snuck thru using text mail to reach me. He has a habit of ending the session abruptly, and seems he has a mental disorder.

Doesn’t help though that my area is particularly high client turnover, and many of the “potential” clients who have contacted me in the area have been blocked due to annoying/flaky behavior or failure to follow advance notice policy when booking (random shit like texting me every few months for me to host on short notice, or cancelling a pre-scheduled visit and not leaving any form of deposit or cancellation fee).

I don't feel so bad about the fact that I had to cancel; I feel awful that he might think I was lying.  Ugh.

Sorry about your root canal. I can't think of many better reasons to bail on an escort.

If you want to be sure he knows you're not lying, there is one fool proof method: send him a cancellation fee. Even a token amount like say, 25% differentiates you definitively from the many flakes. When a would-be first time client shows some class by doing this, I'm not just willing to reschedule, I'm excited to.

I offered.  I am not comfortable with sending cash through apps because of anonymity but asked for his Amazon list, or if I could send him a gift card and he said it wasn't necessary.  Which I appreciated but it made me feel worse.

I do very much hope to still meet him if I'm in his town again and he's still working, and I'll make it up to him at that time.

At least they let you know.  They could have just flaked and ghosted you.

That’s like saying: “at least nobody was killed during the hurricane/tornado/car crash etc.

yes, nobody was killed but: whoever is living still has to endure the circumstances that happened.

Granted that’s a bit dramatic example but, it goes to show. flaked and ghosted is still just as bad as a client canceling a session in a situation where someone made concessions to coordinate them (and the amount of times I’ve done it is untold).

Any client who thinks they somehow are doing charity by “letting me know” they are essentially flaking out, is still not considerate unless they pay for the session cancelled

@Jarrod_Uncut do you believe the client who says “nothing to worry about” regarding COVID, HIV, STI’s, flu, …crabs?

It’s a crapshoot for both client and provider the first time. I think we all know that.

I take it as a “no guarantee” on both sides.
