I usually start my contact by text or e mail with: I am a fat, bald old man who luckily has a great sexual imagination and a desire to get together with you....."   If I don't hear back, I do not go asking for an explanation.  Listen, sooner or later he is going to find out that I am old, fat and bald, so why pretend that I am anything other than that.  If that does not measure up to his standards, I figure he missed out on the great sexual imagination part.

There speaks a professional. Well said. I totally agree. I always think “this client has chosen me for his massage / fun…out of all the other options available to him he has chosen me. What a fantastic compliment that is! I shall make sure that he feels fantastic about that choice and really make his day”.

If only everyone were so professional, there would be little to discuss on these forums.

Having been burned out of £300 with a provider on a G come down I'm much more careful now. And selective….

Don't feel bad for me - the incident led to something quite positive in my life.

If an escort wants to eliminate certain clients based on looks, I much prefer it when his ad is clear that he does that.  He can either be blunt (specifically excluding certain groups of people) or give a strong hint ("prefer to work on clients who are height/weight proportionate" or something like that).  What I don't appreciate is a guy not having any indication in the text of his ad that he is going to screen based on looks who then does so after I've contacted him.  As others have written, it might be foolish from a business perspective since it's going to limit the pool of clients, but I don't begrudge someone who gets as much business as he wants while still declining to see certain clients based on looks.  But the last thing a client wants after approaching an escort is to be rejected based on looks.  If we wanted that we would be on an app looking for free hookups or out at a bar or sex club or something.  It's much easier if you simply know in advance not to bother to contact someone since he clearly won't accept your business rather than be annoyed after the fact.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I have communicated with a prolific provider who stated nothing about not welcoming Asian clients in his ad. When I contacted him we conversed for a bit and he asked about what I looked like because he wanted to make sure he’d recognize the correct person who’d show up at his door. Once I described myself he simply said I’d have a better time with someone else. it wasn’t rude, but it did not make me feel good. I blamed myself for reaching out to him, for not knowing my place and asking for the impossible. This was before I started researching about providers and it turned out that his preference was quite well known.

This has happened to me more than a few times with different providers.

Some providers do so well that they don’t welcome all types of clients and although it does pose a question about professionalism as @Jamie21 eloquently said, I respect their discretion. I just hope that they are honest and straightforward about it upfront in their ad so nobody has to waste their time. I understand that having stuff like that on an ad is bad for business, but if they’re going to have a preference they need to accept the caveats.

Personally, if I were confident about my appearance and did not mind rejection after communicating with someone, I would have stayed on hookup apps and not considered hiring someone to make me feel special.

This is one of the reasons it's even hard for me to make a first contact with someone I have not hired. Fear is so debilitating.

I honestly really dislike it when clients send Me photos unless they're photos of them showing off fetish wear, or a formidable collection of gear that might be relevant to the session.

I would also say I dislike it when they send Me their age/height/weight but I've found that those clients are the better ones---NOT because they're disclosing their stats, but because they're polite and decent enough to say ANYTHING about themselves VS the usual postcards from the "Goof Troop" on any given day ("where are you", "U host? Cock Size???", "God damn your hot, I'd love to service you off the clock"

Photos are wasted data to Me. As a straight provider I really couldn't be concerned with how My clients look, let alone a photo of a cock with no face attached to it.

TL;DR: I find it unprofessional to presume that a photo of your looks will sway Me in any different direction on My treatment towards you. I also think that if I were to want such information; I Myself would be acting unprofessional.

^ (These are words from the Dominant Top who doesn't give AF & it's no skin from His back either way) ^

(LET'S FLIP THE SCRIPT)

ALL SEXWORKERS have the right to be selective on who they see or the clientele they're building regardless of anything. If I were a 5'1" bottom weighing 120 lbs, not a day older than 21, and doing this to get by while in My junior year of pre-law @ undergraduate.....I might not want to engage an aggressive Dominant Top weighing 275 lbs @ 6'5" who wants an overnight and is requiring that both of us "parTy".

-If something goes wrong with the session, I could be raped or forced to finish the appointment for free, and I would have slim chance to defend Myself if pinned underneath him, atleast without weapons

-If I have to defend Myself, and I do use a weapon, which leads to charges, I'm going to be in hot water on My law career & might have spent 3 years studying for nothing

-I'm being asked to use something I'm unfamiliar with by someone who could easily overpower Me and I don't know My reactions

-I might be too tight anally or too small physically to even give him the steady rhythm or bounce back effect that your average Top enjoys during penetration

Two sides, same token.

Escorts are people.  I'm amazed that so many of them are able to indiscriminately be intimate with anyone.  If there is something that repulses an escort, I'd rather find out before we meet than have him try to fake it.  You can always tell when someone isn't into it.

That said, I'll never send a picture.

Personally I find it incredibly hypocritical to expect a provider to accept just anyone. Everyone on this site is critical of every detail of the providers This is a very personal business and everyone has a right to draw a line somewhere on both sides of the business.

Yes of course providers can have lines. It’s their business, they can define their market. But I think it’s the nature of the job to accept clients as they are. I can influence my market by how I present my service and in my pricing and pitch.

My clients are more discerning and up market I think because of my pitch. If I was cheaper then I’d get a different type of client. However I’m not discriminating clients on looks, size, age or ethnicity. I am discriminating on cleanliness (that’s difficult to assess though - but everyone showers before seeing me!) politeness, respect and discretion. Hence someone texting “fuck now” gets no response. Someone wanting a discount gets refused. Someone booking and then not showing is blocked for ever. Someone who is unclean and disrespectful during the session gets what they deserve and doesn’t come back. That’s how I ‘select’ clients.

This conversation is moving too far to the extreme.

No one said it's practical for the provider to be super picky as if he's on a dating site.

But on the other side....some of these commenters feel that it's somehow their RIGHT to be accepted as a client no matter how little care they give to their own grooming and behavior.

I don’t agree it’s moving far to the extreme. It seems to be quite reasonable. Providers have the right to  decline clients, that’s not been refuted. But the more selective they are the more they move away from the concept of the work I think.

Now that’s extreme! Everyone? Every detail?

I ask the provider up front if he has any discomfort with race, age, or weight.

I do the same. If they don’t already state it on their profile I ask them if they have any racial hang ups. I either get an of course not response or no response at all. Either way I like to know up front.
