Nothing quite like a harbour cruise! And the fare is far more economical than the 274 day cruise. (Yes I know what it costs, or doesn't cost to be more precise.)

If the RTW cruise was like the leather cruise I went on one Mardi Gras - OMG

I would love to do a RTW cruise but not at the moment.

My cousin spent many weeks floating up the coast of South American in feb/March  last year, when they were refused entry to many ports, the covid broke out on the ship courtesy of some new crew who came on in Punta Arenas, eventually she got to Fort Lauderdale and a police escort to the airport, a long 48 hr delay in SFO when United refused to carry any cruise passengers, and then 14 days quarantine in Melbourne before being able to get home to Sydney

My friend Dennis and his girlfriend sailed from California to Australia and New Zealand in a relatively small boat. I met them in New Zealand and then flew from Christchurch to Sydney. Great experience 👍 No worries about the other passengers or  six hours to see Stockholm or St Petersburg.

One woman told my mother she plays bridge almost every day and she loves having new partners every 10-15 days as people come and leave for different segments.

Some of my mother's friends came up with a rather interesting vacation idea.  They're die-hard mahjong players who booked a cruise last minute (cheap rate, they're all retired, no kids or pets) just to play mahjong.  They cleared it with the cruise line ahead of time to bring a mahjong table & chairs on board and got exact measurements of the cabin to make sure the set-up would fit.  They played mahjong all day, ate all sorts of great food (no grocery shopping, no cooking, no dishes), and enjoyed the ship's entertainment every night.  It was a 10-day cruise leaving from LA, going up & down Mexico's Pacific Coast, yet they never stepped off the ship.  Not my concept of an ideal vacation, but they had a blast.  Even at full price, they said it would have been worth it.  At the last-minute fare, it was a steal.

I was in the military so I’ve kinda already done this before 😂

My father said the same thing to me when I asked him if he wanted to join me on a cruise.  He quickly changed his attitude on our first cruise to the Mexican Riviera and agrees it was the most relaxing vacation for each of us.  He has since joined me on cruises to the Caribbean, Panama Canal, Hawaii, Alaska, and Australia/Fiji.  Without those cruises we probably would not have bonded so much, as he was in his 70s/80s and me in my 20s/30s.  The cruise allowed us to experience a vacation together but gave me the freedom to pursue more active excursions without him

going on a worldwide cruise is a good idea. I think that you will remember this journey for a lifetime and take a lot of cool photos. I like to travel too. my job does not give me the opportunity to plan a trip, so I travel spontaneously. I found flights to California yesterday and am flying to America tomorrow. I think it will be unforgettable
