When a Provider you've seen 1-2 times Asks you for a Booking Out of the Blue, do you Feel Flattered or ... ?

A number of years ago, a provider whom I had seen twice phoned me to find out if I was interested in getting together again that evening, just as I was sitting down to dinner with my visiting parents. I was annoyed rather than flattered, especially since I had not given him my phone number (he had copied it down from the previous hire). I don't like cold calls from any service provider. I assume they are simply trying to drum up business at a slow time, rather than eager for my charming companionship.

Some providers that I have met once or twice would text me that they are traveling in my area on a time, but none of them necessarily directly asked for a booking. I think it's nice of them to provide that heads up so I can plan my bookings accordingly.

I do agree with @Charlie though, cold calls to a client without context is no bueno.

Two reasons I can think of for a provider to contact a client: (1) the client likes to hire the out-of-town provider when he's in town, so giving him a heads up when he'll be in town (I remember some provider from Peoria, Illinois who'd let me know when he was coming, because I was fond of him. I can't remember his name right now, but I'm sure at least one of you knows whom I'm talking about), or (2) the provider was so impressed with the client he wants to give him a discount.

Thank you. I've been thinking of the reason #2 because sex with this guy was really great BUT we all know they are "performers" so how do you know he calls you because he likes you or because he's only $300 short to complete the rent?

We all get boatloads of daily SPAM for products/services we’ve zero connection to, right? Every device every account. We can somehow distinguish it from the promos in the mailbox from trusted vendors.
I’m a fan of the services offered in the RM online catalog. But when my mailbox pings, I try to distinguish in a similar way if I get a notice from any provider or member. I can ignore someone I might have on my radar, and can still contact him later without being questioned. Very few providers request initial contact via R.M msgr.

This is a question open to Providers who'd like to provide an answer as well ...

What do you think is the real reason why he (the provider) would be calling you?

I am fine with a discreet text message. Calls not so much.  Usually I assume that they enjoyed our previous meeting and would like to repeat.  A detailed, graphical and slutty description of what he would like to do during the meet is a happy bonus! 😆

I have had a provider let me know when he was coming into a nearby city. That was appreciated. What wasn't appreciated was him using a phone number that I explicitly and repeatedly asked him NOT to use...even after providing an alternative phone number. (Rookie mistake, admittedly!)

As for why, well, obviously they are in a "sales" business of sorts. Prospecting from past clients where there was an enjoyable connection in some way. It could be the client was respectful, generous, consistent, followed-through, personally enjoyable to be around, or even attractive. I think in most cases, though, it's a business transaction. Nevertheless, I do transactions that are business related with people whom I actually like and care about. Like I said, it's preferred and more enjoyable for all. I still have to charge for my work, though. Even if Iike them a lot.

I don’t give out my number to providers and book through a 3rd party. When I meet the guys, they almost always ask to exchange numbers, to cut out the fee from the agent presumably. I politely tell them I don’t share my number and they’re good about it.

Twice, providers have tracked me down on Instagram and asked for a meeting.  Both times I told them it was tacky and in bad taste and to please not do it again.

Being a Leo, I think the world revolves around me, so why wouldn't a provider contact me? I mean, it gives him an opportunity to bask in my magnificence and get paid for the privilege of doing so!

But seriously...

A guy I hire somewhat regularly has an erratic schedule. More than once I've contacted him to book and he's been unavailable. So, sometimes I text him and he typically texts  me when he knows he will be free for a few days. Another escort would text me when he was in town. I appreciate both forms of contact. However, I wouldn't appreciate a call. All too often they occur at the worst possible time.

I would feel annoyed or concerned for them. Asking for a booking is a bit much. I let people know I'm headed to town or back after a long trip, and check in with clients who want something regular. Phone calls are great though - I'm old fashioned like that. Don't answer? I'll leave you a message. But since people don't check their messages I usually leave a joke.

Yeah, that was the man. Thanks. I don't know if he's still in the business, but he was a real pro.
