Hey there,

This is my first post, but I'm really considering escorting to get through post-secondary school. I was wondering if the "twink" body type is preferred or wanted by clients? I know super the "Greek God" body type is SUPER popular. Can twinks even compete with these muscle-y men?

I'm more of a masculine twink, if that adds anything, lol.

Also, how is the market in Toronto, moving there in a couple of months :)

Hey TT, welcome to the board, and to escorting.

I wouldn't frame it as "competing" with any other body type or escort vibe. I don't think many clients scroll through rentmen and debate between hiring a "greek god" or a twink. Rather, different clients have different tastes, and every escort's goal is to maximize the number of potentially interested clients that end up booking with them. So maybe your question could be reframed slightly as: how many clients are looking for twinks in Toronto? I don't have first hand experience, but I'd be willing to guess that there's plenty. It's a big and diverse market.

I've always had a good time and booked plenty of appointments in Toronto. My one piece advice for working there is that lots of clients are not in the city centre, and so will need you to either commute out to them or host them. If you can do either or both of those you will be a lot busier. I have found Toronto to not have too many time wasters compared to lots of cities, but there are many clients whose first language isn't English. Learning to tell those two things apart could be useful.

So altogether my opinion on your post's original question is this: if you're reasonably confident that escorting is something you'd like to try, don't let uncertainty about client preferences hold you back. There are many good reasons to work or not work in this biz, but I'd say that if you're young, fit, and reasonably well-spoken and personable, then attracting enough clients to make it worth your time isn't likely to be a limiting factor. Almost every escort attracts attention when they post their first ad. I, too, started escorting as a university student and found that lots of client hired me on that basis despite not fitting that "greek god" stereotype either. 6+ years later.....I'm still going.

If you have other questions my DMs are open.

If you don't mind sharing, what sorts of cultural backgrounds do your clients there tend to have? Did you find the language barrier an issue?

The GTA (Toronto area) is one of the most diverse places on Earth. Caribbean, East and Central African, South Asian, East Asian, Southern Europeans....this is just to name a few that spring to mind.

The language barrier can definitely be an issue, but thankfully rarely an insurmountable one, and often a rewarding one to overcome. As I said in response to the OP, it can be hard at first to tell the difference between a time waster and someone who is ESL. It's something that took me time to adjust to, but I'm very happy that I did, though of course I still have room to improve.

Hi there. You should have no problem establishing yourself in the market. I prefer guys 18-30 so twinks are definitely my type. And actually on the masculine part I prefer that over feminine guys. I'm into guys not girls so sometimes too fem turns me off. And on Toronto there is a lot of competition so make sure you have a good ad, good pictures, and you should be fine. Would love to see your ad once you create it and maybe we could get together then once the border opens back up. Would love to maybe be one of your first clients.

You're too kind, thank you :)

There is a market for everyone (companions), but no one is for everyone (clients). If you are a people-person, client-focused, can efficiently manage your schedule, and simply keep your word, you can and will do well. Best wishes and welcome to the forum!

Since we are on the subject of twinks, I wonder how everyone defines that. For me, a twink is between 18-27. Essentially college guys or of that age.

Although age is something that is part of it for me, I tend to more think of a twink being defined by their body type. Here is something that I came across that seems, for the most part, pretty good at defining the various terms (ref: https://pairedlife.com/dating/Gay-Men-Are-you-a-Jock-Otter-Bear-or-Wolf):

You forgot to add "Slim". You can have a guy with the characteristics above but if he's overweight or too muscular, he's not a twink.

Great table, I think it would be great if we referenced porn stars as an example of each type.

If you're a (hung) Top (or can top) you'll do well regardless of your physique.

There's a shortage (almost crisis) of Tops in Toronto.

Bottoms and Versatiles can be found anywhere, especially hookup apps.

I think this is true. Many guys advertising as versatile are bottoms who only top on the third Wednesday in a month without an R in it.

In my experience tops are rare, and hung tops especially rare. Which is good for me as a hung top lol.

I haven't tried topping; I'm worried that I'll get soft WAY too quickly. What's the deal with cockrings? How long can you wear one?

I don't want to say that you're in trouble but you should try (and learn if possible) ASAP. 80% of your clients will ask you to top them.

It depends. If you'll get soft WAY too quickly for cumming that's ok, you can learn to control it or use creams to delay orgasm.

If you'll get soft WAY too quickly because you don't have a top (insertive) mindset and are unable to maintain a hard-on, that's a problem.

I've been with guys using cock rings and everyone uses a different type, it depends on size too. It should help used in combination with Viagra.

You can always offer your services as a bottom but be aware that you might have fewer clients. If you're in your 20s, that should help as well.

As last resource, you can try becoming a masseur and advertise on rentmasseur.com as there are fewer expectations for you to top but to get more clients you should be open to the idea to give blowjobs.

I never wear cockrings with clients. I wear one sometimes doing yoga but that’s a different story!!

I don’t have a problem getting hard or staying hard but if I’m doing a filming session (I make massage porn) and I know I’ll need to be hard for 3 sessions (we tend to film a few massage videos in a day) then I’ll take half a viagra pill just to be sure. But generally I don’t like to use it.

I think if you wear a cockring it can help to keep you hard but don’t wear it for too long. In my experience if you get anxious about staying hard then you’re likely to struggle to stay hard...it’s often all in the mind.

I’d suggest having a dildo available. It will give you confidence that if you didn’t stay hard you can use the dildo on your client until you are hard again. Just by having the dildo there it will reduce your anxiety and therefore you’ll stay hard...see what I mean? Find ways to reduce the anxiety about going soft and you’ll discover that the problem goes away. It’s better than using viagra or cockrings.

Awesome! Thanks for the reply, I'm very open to topping and trying new things. I wouldn't say I'm a COMPLETE bottom. Moreso, a vers bottom who is interested in topping. I'm fine with BJ's, they require little effort. I just want to ensure that my client is well taken care of, and I get what I deserve :)

Thank's for the reassurance! I've always wanted to try topping, not a total bottom. Bottoming takes a lot of prep work.

You should be clear with clients about your role though. I think they’ll be reluctant to book if you say you’re a bottom but will top. Be a clear bottom or clear top. If you’re uncertain about whether you can top in a professional capacity maybe try it with non client partners first. I’d say also that ideally you need to be above average size if you’re going to top. Most clients go for big boys lol.
