I need as much intel on working in Dubai.

-What type of escort is that market is generally into

-Where to stay (I've seen there are known 'escort' hotels that caters to the industry.)

-When to go

-Laws

-Rates

-Anything else a first-timer should know before committing to air/expenses

Thanks guys

I'd be curious to know all these myself. I don't have plans to go to Dubai, but it seems like a place where someone could pull major numbers ?

However, in America: I don't recall ever having a Saudi Arabian (or United Arab Emirates) client. I can't vouch that it would even be safe to escort there, and be gay...so wouldn't have a clue.

Regardless, it's intriguing to think about. I have met guys before from Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, and India for sure. I know each is unique, but for the most part the strict rule of Islam and Muslim are heavy in those regions.

However, that could be an advantage if the closeted guys perhaps seek out some forbidden fruit from time to time.

I could be wrong, but I suspect that much of the market there is western expats and not Emiratis.

I know a few hotties who cleaned up there! Most of their clients were rich Arab royals and businessmen who paid well and gave extravagant gifts. My guys were younger, which was a big plus according to them. They didn’t run into any legal or harassment issues, as long as they stayed at the resort hotels.

Dubai is an interesting bubble to work in. I've been both 'brought in' and have gone on holiday there, solo.

As in most instances, the Dubai market caters to a look they don't or can't easily get. While a predominant amount of that is the tall, chiseled, all-American look, it also extends to good looking Black and Asian guys. Emiratis love visual beauty. They want a model muscular frame and a jawline that can cut glass.

It sounds as if you're wanting to travel there independently, set up shop and work. I would not recommend that. The real money (and safety) is from having a local fly you in. Dubai is not a strong city for an independent escort, as facets of Sharia law make it difficult to advertise.

Question: Why Dubai?

I'm sure with your Nordic look you've done great in Dubai! So exotic!

Hey Ben,

Thank you very much for that thorough answer. I really appreciate it and it's exactly what I wanted to hear from someone who's done it. I was considering it as a stop on a world tour I'm doing beginning in Buenos Aires in November. I was just interested in seeing Dubai (& middle east in general). I was targeting Tel Aviv for August '22 after spending the summer in Budapest, Prague then working my way down Italy's coast to the middle east. It's all very much going where the wind will take me with some definite planned longer stays. Thanks again!

Thanks. I may be a bit 'long in the tooth' for that market is the hunch I'm getting but good to know there's little harassment.

Thanks. I've always wondered what others thought I 'looked like' or where they think I'm from when I'm a 11th generation American from Scot/English/German stock. Interesting and thank you, maybe I'll start playing up the Viking look more.

Wow. This makes me want to start planning that I'm "available" to come out ?. I would love to visit the tallest building in the world...

Did you find English was a predominant 2nd language there?

Curious to know, were there any mention of whether these escorts were getting more tops or bottoms as clients?

Seems closest to get is to be in cities that cater a big international diversity. Only difference like Ben said, it's hard to get that same level of "exotic" factor in the US because all the big cities already have every flavor of escort a client could want.

Not to mention some of the royal Arabs probably won't touch America due to the political issues.

I have a gay friend who lived in Dubai for 1 1/2 years for work. He wasn't an escort, but I'd be very careful. They have very strict laws against homosexual relations there and they do go after foreigners.

In 2017, a gay British man was arrested and jailed for "touching another man on the hip."

My friend says they also monitor and censor the internet and mobile phones there and use your data for arrests. He basically was celibate while he lived there but fortunately his job had decent vacation time, so he'd travel to Israel or Greece to hook up with guys. My friend said he was especially cautious after an Emirati he knew found an inactive dating profile and tried to extort money from him. That ended up causing him to leave Dubai altogether.

Here is another NYTimes story about the very strict rules they have with Shariah Law and incidents when they went after foreigners. In short, Dubai, the UAE in general and much of the Middle East is not for amateurs. I'd be very careful not only as an escort but as a gay man in general (or a single woman. I have another friend who lived there briefly with her now husband and they had to pretend they were already married for her to literally just go to the grocery store).

English is basically a first language there. It's taught in schools from a young age. It's still the global language of business and they prepare their children for that from a young age. Frankly, Emiratis speak better english than most Americans I know.

Chatter of being hired by royals always seems suspect to me. There are many hoops that one has to jump through in order to be flown over for that purpose and speaking about it after the fact would be ill-advised. The first rule of Fight Club, indeed.

As a tourist, Dubai is an interesting place to visit for a few days. Like Vegas, it gets old quickly.

I'd also recommend staying a little longer, renting a car and driving the hour to Abu Dhabi to get a more 'real' feel for the culture.

As for being gay in Dubai, I treat it as I do anywhere I travel: I don't wear my sexuality on my sleeve.

Interestingly, the clients were both tops and bottoms. One told me that a young Emirati Royal had the hottest and smoothest ass he ever fucked! I never forgot that.

Not a provider, but a hobbyist. I’ve been to Dubai a number of times on business, and while my observations are purely anecdotal, I can also say I’ve never seen/encountered any problems, thankfully.

Dubai, indeed the whole of the UAE, is a very different place than I would say the majority are used to. Yes, there are some aspects of Sharia law but by and large, if you’re modest, circumspect, and respectful no one is going to bother you.

People are cautious - both ex-pats and locals - when discussing anything homosexual. There’s almost a throwback to the secret code gays used decades ago in the West to suss out who was, who wasn’t. I was fortunate enough prior to my first trip to have a friend there who kind of guided me, introduced me to other gay men, and other hobbyists. This most certainly helped me navigate engaging in this hobby.

In terms of providers, as said above, what can’t be normally found there tends to be most popular. Also, throughout the whole Gulf region, bodybuilding is huge, so big, thick muscular bodybuilder types tend to do well too. Those guys on IG aren’t traveling to Dubai for the shawarma.

I’ll even go one further, I’ve also been to Riyadh - where things are much different, and far stricter than the UAE. Yet, even there, there’s an underground of sorts - no providers, but just gay ex-pats and locals getting together. I’d wager the whole plan the Saudis have for Neom on the Red Sea will develop into something like Dubai or Sharm el-Sheikh or a hybrid of the two.

By the way, whom is exactly a Royal as it compares to an American guy? A Politician, Celebrity, or Business tycoon?

I think @NohoDudeNYC that all the cautionary remarks are justified.

In a place where an unmarried heterosexual couple can be arrested and held in jail for exchanging a kiss on the beach, homosexual men have to be very careful to ‘fly beneath the radar’. You do not want to end up in a local prison cell.

The only 2 experiences I can relate date from 18years ago. First, a young BelAmi type (sexually versatile, ripped muscled body) working in London was lured there for an all-expenses paid vacation and $7000 a week. I warned him but he was so tempted he didn’t think clearly. As it happened, he got stiffed…not in a good way.

Second, my venereologist (now dead) was highly renowned in London and he told me of having to repair a couple of the girls who were badly hurt (by a member of one of the ruling families in the UAE) - he told me that usually the women were hired after dinner and when they left in the early morning, the gay male escorts arrived to take their place.

I had a friend who lived and worked in Riyadh for 2 years and he told me about the underground gay scene. He told me married Saudis prefer to have other married Saudis as gay hookup buddies more for protection/safety as they know providers can possibly blackmail them in the future (after the provider has left the country of course.)
