Goodbye (or good riddance?), Kardashians

Recommended Posts

The family and the show can be and is polarizing - some people enjoy the pure entertainment it brings during weekends or as an escape to a life one would consider mundane or boring to people being inundated with the overexposure the family brings into day-to-day media. Regardless, it has been a big part of entertainment in the past decade and a half and it has made some impacts - good or bad - to the nation and to the world. It also does not hurt that the family has pretty much secured itself financially through this show.

I applaud them for being able to say, 'we have had enough.' What do you think? Did they make the right call, or should they have made this call a lot earlier?

I had never seen an episode of this show in my life until last night. It was a 16 year old episode, and Bruce Jenner was celebrating his 16th anniversary at that time, stating, "And here's to 16 more". Flash forward to today, he's a woman, all but one of the people featured are quite famous, and I really don't think I was missing out on never watching it all along.

the show is on some cable channel, I presume.....don't have cable, so I never watch it, but I caught it once in a hotel room, I guess, that had cable......the entire episode that day consisted of something like the girls going to their plastic surgeon's office and looking at x-rays of their boob jobs and butt jobs......or something......I gave up after about 15 minutes.......

and, for anybody interested, here is a decent summary of how Kim got her do-porn-to-get-famous start back in 2002-2007 or so......

Joan Collins slams Kardashians: ‘There’s an awful lot of surgery there’

She’s a Dame who doesn’t give a damn!

Dame Joan Collins is 88 and still has a lot to say. The “Dynasty” legend’s new memoir, “My Unapologetic Diaries,” is full of juicy secrets and truly uncensored thoughts — and a whole lot of Alexis Carrington-worthy cattiness.

The British star slammed her “Dynasty” co-star Linda Evans and her plastic surgery and then proceeded to trash folks who go under the knife — namely the Kardashian family, according to the Daily Mail.

“Are you supposed to ignore somebody when they come in with tape on their eyelid?” she wrote of Evans, who starred in the ABC soap opera as her character’s nemesis. “Every one of the other actors was saying, ‘What do you think she had done?’ “

“Am I the only one who thinks there’s an obesity crisis? Those lips people have done, I think they look ludicrous,” she said of today’s trends in cosmetic surgery. “I’m sorry. And if people want to go round looking like that I’m going to laugh at it.”

Collins then went on to slam the reality television dynasty. “We all talk about it. Have you ever been in a hairdresser’s? The Kardashians, for instance.”

“Kris Jenner, their mother, is a good friend of mine and I don’t want to be rude about her children, but there’s an awful lot of surgery there and I’ve talked to my friends about it, as I’m sure you have, the bottoms, the tiny waists,” she said.

Collins even took a swing at Italian actress Sophia Loren and her pearly whites, writing that Loren’s teeth “look like they have been carved out of ivory.”

“[Loren’s] still alive. But it’s not as if we’re bosom buddies and she’s never going to speak to me again. And it’s true,” Collins continued.

You got that right, big-n-tall!

I have an idea for a spin-off:  COOKING & CLEANING FOR THE KARDASHIANS

Camera crews follow the household staff to see how they react to the ridiculousness of their employers.  Offer Kris Jenner even the slightest amount of money and she'll sign off on it, despite the potential for embarrassment.

Was able to watch 1 episode a few years back, out of curiosity. I remember thinking that that's what they must mean when people refer to the "decadent West". I'm not sure who is more morally bankrupt - the Kardashians for exposing their trash like that or the people who watch the show? No judgement, of course 😱
