Endless pointless posts by the same 1-2 posters is one of the reasons I don’t participate much now. Beyond one of them compulsively cyber-stalking me, it’s simply tiresome having to wade through all the nonsense posts from these creatures who’s only goal is to keep their post count up.

many, many thousands of posts by the doc, errrr the MD dude, errrrr marylander are single pics posted in most of the threads in the gallery forum......said pics are enjoyed ( often lasciviously / very often childishly by 1 single poster w/a FMRG reply to many pics).....but anyway, posting those pics is far from pointless.

The problem with the avalanche of posts in the Gallery is that they drown out other posters who want to share their pics.

Nothing prevents anybody from contributing / adding their own pics to share in the gallery....saying that some posters would get “drowned out” in that particular forum is 120% ridiculous.....do you know how quickly one can scroll through dozens & dozens of pics searching for only those with some personal appeal ?.....all posters who want to post gallery pics would be welcome to do so.....they will all attract the interest & the appreciation that they deserve ......btw, maybe some others could get their thoughts on baseball into the conversation once in awhile too.

I post a great deal in the Gallary, but I basically agree with @Lucky and @MikeBiDude .It takes two weeks or so to develop a so called fan base. Can't happened if you are crowded out.

 

Also, it helps to have respected ally (Truereview, Moondance, and now whipped guy).

I'm guessing the director's/producers found it useful to time the surgery as current and thus more organically include the thoughts about having the surgery front and center. If she'd already had the surgery, it would have prompted viewers to wonder why she's still focused on the thinking that led to the surgery. Either way, these characters are created and modified with both an eye to making their lives/characters more nuanced and more complex over time and there's always a trade off in depicting timing as present-tense vs. past-tense w/r/t big decisions and the surrounding facts, thoughts, and felt consequences for the character. Your post demonstrates that timing the surgery as new prompts wondering about why she didn't have it sooner, and is that consistent with her character/it's portrayal. Mine demonstrates other questions that are avoided/would have been prompted by depicting the surgery as having occurred in the past.
