I can confirm that a friend of mine was denied entry into Canada because of a DUI (alcohol) on his record. This was several years back. I have no idea what the current situation is.

I know a Canadian that was refused entry into the USA for seven years because of a DUI

I've heard stories...

And folks working for the government but don't tell them or they'll get offended.

I work for the government and I'm in DC all the time (not right now obviously) and I love the place. I love seeing my regular providers.

? I already see I’m going to have to talk to you INDIRECTLY. I can’t quote anything you say because you go out of your way on being rude and disrespectful, just like the other one you was beefing with. Y’all should get along fine. Otherwise, don’t make assumptions. I’m very much a citizen and I don’t have anything felonious on my record, so don’t question my background ?

But...since you defer, here you go. Do your research. It’s true if more than 2 people are saying it.

@Mocha , you said Americans have a difficult time getting into Canada and the link you provided is about an AUSTRALIAN couple not being able to get into Canada. Pay attention. Two “examples”? Hardly “evidence” babe lol.

And for the examples that followed. Idk, maybe don’t get a DUI?? Residual consequences of poor behavior.

Folks also come over to lobby.

Yup...and there's so many closeted government workers and politicians too. A couple of guys I hire tell me about it all the time. Even some of the more savvy escorts time their visits when Congress is in session. They rack up a lot of income because of the increase in clients

There must be a reciprocal agreement between the two governments about this DUI thing. I know several Americans turned away at the Canadian border because of a DUI conviction, one conviction being over 40 years ago. In that case, it was an American couple crossing the border in Washington state to go RV camping. The poor wife was shocked to learn of her husband’s DUI at the border. They had to return home to their American home some 2,000 miles away.

A plain-ol’ buddy it would have to be... I’m coming up on 6 months of no (THC) cannabis ????

decided to give my brain a rest for a while, enjoying Some hemp CBD pre-rolls when I get the urge to look like a totally cool smoker ?

Yesssss! I need a smoking buddy!

But I do not think we are going to decriminalize sex work any time soon. A project was just rejected in the city counsel, IDK when we are going to have a new one.

I know what I posted and I know what I read. There’s more than enough examples out there about Canadian entry for me to not have to do extra work to explain.

DUI is not the only example. There’s plenty other reasons out there. And you even said it yourself:

much so that it was a staple in my travels for awhile. Others' date=' not so much luck there[/quote']

So apparently you’re speaking of a PAST event. It doesn’t sound like you’ve been there lately. And then you say you haven’t had so much luck in other areas of Canada.

With both of those said, you can’t deny the fact that NO AMERICAN PERIOD is going to be prancing over to Canada without essential reasons anyway, at this point in time:

It would be foolishly optimistic to think that not having a DUI or other conviction is a free pass into Canada. If you found yourself having previously gotten into Canada easy, it could be because you’re a New York resident (u like to pry into other people’s business, but you certainly don’t share much about yours...so I’m going to assume). New York and Canada may be accustomed to cross-border travel moreso than from other states.

And please, I’m just trying to have a conversation. No offense meant or taken You don’t have to bring up old, past stuff, when I’m just trying to be cordial.

I was denied entry at Toronto International Airport for a charge that got dismissed and I had the record expunged. That's expunged not sealed. Clearly, records are never entirely deleted anymore, and it doesn't matter if a charge is completely false and gets immediately dismissed. I wonder if driving across would be just as strict.

Driving across is even more strict. It’s a traffic stop on steroids. I did it once, and never again. Like I said, Canada can stay up there...there’s plenty of cities in this country I can enjoy. I mean, I’d love to go to Edmonton, and Calgary, and Montral/Toronto...but if it’s going to be akin to judgment day, standing in front of the father, the son, and the Holy Ghost...while trying to enter the gates of heaven...I can wait a little longer til my time comes.

If it’s that much work, I rather go to Africa. The motherland and the most diverse continent of them all, versus Canada. Find me a Moroccan sugar daddy, an Egyptian sugar daddy, a Nigerian sugar daddy, a South African sugar daddy...

I’m not reading this and I already know my point still stands based on your posting history. But “thank you” for your time.

You don’t have to read. But just admit it was jerk move to ask in the open, if I’m an illegal or felon. And if I was, was I going to sit here and say it? I made one general statement, which was not against you, and you turned it into something irrelevant.

If you can’t recognize that, clearly integrity isn’t your strong suit. Moving on...

I heard on the news about DC being on extended lockdown.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/thehill.com/homenews/coronavirus-report/497535-dc-extends-stay-at-home-order-to-june-8%3famp

The re-opening comes right around my preferred time of year to go between June and October (couple years ago I went around this time, and couldn’t find a hotel in the city for a few days due to graduations).

I don’t know what the market is like there now, but I want to be front and center on the days of reopening. I can see it now:

But at the same time...expectations are going to be low, and care will be priority.
