Plus, I was taken aback: Darren Criss is STRAIGHT? Yikes.

Can we please get past the point where people must be classified one of only two or three ways: Gay Bi Straight. The only codifying that makes sense to me is that sexuality should be colored infinite shades of gray.

I binge watched it as a train wreck I couldn't take my eyes off of. Most of the dialog was awful and as another member commented all one note and predictable. That said, it was still fun to watch. The only actor I had a problem with was Jim Parsons (who I am a big fan of), just didn't pull it off and was miscast.

I binged the entire series today, and really enjoyed it. Although Ryan took a lot of creative license, and depiction was captivating, Patti a standout, and Dylan helluva Daddy sexy.... Parsons, despite being vapid was a great example of the lecherous casting couch.

The only puzzling depiction was Rock Hudson, and I failed to understand why Ryan chose to make him a dumb country bumpkin and horrible actor ? He wasn't the best actor, but his depiction was the biggest stretch for me. Nonetheless, 2 thumbs up !

There is a tease going around the internet that no second season was planned, yet due to its popularity, Hollywood may well have another season afterall. For example, JustJared….

Not exactly sure where they could take it...they did cram a lot in those 6 episodes, and a point was made at the end.... It will be interesting to see cause Ryan is really creative, so who knows ?

If it follows the model of "American Horror Story", it could be a completely different story about Hollywood, even set in a different era; with maybe some crossover characters in small roles. The post-apocalyptic antichrist season involved a lot of the characters from "Coven" in later episodes, and the doctor (James Cromwell) appeared in several seasons.

Having now watched it all I understand what Murphy and company were attempting. I enjoyed the show a lot and I'm glad it was there for us to watch, especially now. In normal times it would have taken a lot longer to get through it all. Without being too much of a spoiler, I don't see how it could carry on. I would so love to see more of those characters, sets and clothes.

The 200$ gets me (100$ for gazstaton owner, 100$ for escort) that means 2000$ today. Really? There were that many people having 2000$ to spend on a fuck? Where the hell did the dirt poor Rock Hudson carachter get that kind of money?

Perhaps the money he made on his movies plus any outside activities he may have engaged him got him $ for the things he wanted.

BTW, was that Scott Riley who played the younger guy that Archie Coleman (Jeremy Pope) approaches in the movie theater? Jack Castello (David Corenswet), dressed in a police uniform, then approaches Archie and demands Archie go with him and eventually entices Archie to go to the gas station.

It is not just the happy ending itself that ruined the last episode for me, it was that the happy ending was soooo fucking happy. My complaint that it was not true to the times is valid but it was not even true to the movie. The nominations of the characters was vindication, the wins went beyond the pale for me. That the male lead characters wind up together is a small believable step, That the characters have public displays of affection on the red carpet or at the ceremony, again takes what was true to the story past the abilty for me to suspend disbelief.

Still, I would watch season 2, only if to find out that the last episode was all an orgasmic dream Rock Hudson had while Tyrone Power blew him. .

Wasn’t meant to be a documentary...

It was probably easier to enjoy this if you have no knowledge or connection whatsoever to the pictures, the stars, the fashions and the real life issues at stake during the 1940’s. A documentary it wasn’t

June Vanity Fair has a full page ad, similar to many others, where Netflix reminds this saga is an alternate ending to the reality of Hollywood.

How many wouldn't understand Ryan Murphy's intent after viewing Hollywood reminds me of the viewer diversity watching Netflix. ?
