Possible Farewell???

I have been overwhelmed by all the responses to my post and want to thank you all for your best wishes. I have also received some private messages and even a phone call from fellow Hoovillians. Someone said I was an optimist and that is true. (Someone also said I am a bottom and that is true too!) I always look for the silver lining in situations which on their face appear grim. My family is very supportive as are friends whom I've confided in.

 

As the day of the operation approaches, I find myself tuning out the world. But tonight at least I intend to go to the Stockbar and see what's up with this year's contest for the best dancer. I'll post my comments on the board Male Stripper Bars.

Best of luck. Expecting that the minute the anesthesia wears off and the typing fingers are working again, you will be back here letting us know that the surgery was a piece of cake, easy as pie.

A sad, but true commentary indeed. This is, in my opinion, the very depressing side of on-line communities. In the end, will we ever know who was really "who" and where did they go?

Well, the surgery was a success, at least I survived it! The pathology tests aren't in yet but I am keeping my fingers crossed as they caught the cancer fairly early (prostate). I'm out of the hospital now and convalescing but it will be some time before I am taking it up the ass again!

 

On a serious note, I truly appreciated all your best wishes and prayers. It meant a lot to me and helped me through the scary parts. Now it's mostly a pain the the ass (literally) that I have to deal with but that too will pass. Luckily my oral skills are pretty good (if I say so myself) so that should compensate. ;-)

 

Prostate cancer has been in the news lately with the Israeli Prime Minister announcing he has it and Gulianni (sp?) using it in his Presidential campaign literature. All I can say is that here in Canada we have wonderful doctors, tremendously nice nurses and modern facilities for doing these kinds of operations (I had the laparascopic treatment). And all covered by health care! No stress about hospital bills which is nice since there's enough stress as it is.

Hi. I'm back! I posted above in reply to Purplecow's post because it seemed appropriate but then maybe it got got buried a bit in the thread. Anyway, thanks for asking and I'm recovering nicely altho it will take time to get fully functional again. You can read my post above for more details if you want. Thanks again for your concern.
