I have had the mischievous thought of driving to our local Southern Baptist Seminary, sitting down in their library, and seeing how many hits I get on my Grindr app of guys who are within 500 feet. I'm betting I'd get a lot. And if I went to the Catholic seminary an hour away in Southern Indiana, I bet Grindr would blow a circuit.

Kind of happened to me last night in Cincinnati. Dude was a for pay guy with hot photos and a porn career. I wrote, “Let’s go” and he came back with a request for 50% deposit via PayPal. I thanked him and declined. Too bad. He was beautiful and directly across the lobby from me in the hotel bar.

Yes, it happened to me at Safeway. Even instagram models have a price and will escort, the question is whether they're cut for the job or not. I'm sure some might even settle for a wealthy sugardaddy. Unfortunately most guys who go on Grindr willing to pay do it just to get a cheaper rate and to hire an amateur guy, someone allegedly not available to others. I think it's also a good way for guys who want to escort to check the basic stats of the potential clients and see if they could handle him or not.

A wise gentleman once told me that if you do include language (“gen” or “generous”) or emojis (?) in your profile it is easy to get your account banned. Users (especially guys that you don’t respond to or reject) will report your profile, so if somebody message/tap you and you are not interested, block them immediately before they can report you...

I did it a few times at first I thought Grindr for escorts would be a bad thing and that's why I was against it specially after Sesta and Fosta. After reading posts by other members and talking with a few escorts I think I was wrong and Grindr would be a good thing for escorts.

 

Hiring is a big step in life we all have crossed at a different type and for different reasons. Grindr might be a way to make some folks hire someone they can't have for free because he's "out of their league". Later on that client after a few good experiences paying and getting exactly what he wants without drama (and some not to so good times spending hours texting and getting blocked) will move on to hire from RentMen.com.

 

I still think most of the guys offering money on Grindr do it because it's cheaper and they feel they're "hunting" for someone not available to others yet they know they're paying for sex a guy who's on the app trying to get laid with guys he likes.

 

The ugly truth is they're hiring... This might get rid of the guys asking for a 30 mins rate and other bottom feeders who after CL and BP were shut down started harassing escorts on Rentmen.com

 

Caveat emptor: some folks start using it to attract men with fake pictures and mugging them if they don't give their wallet. Something like this happen a few blocks from my place at a hotel called Dorchester House to a well-known lawyer. I think it was either Back Page or Craigslist.

 

@Benjamin_Nicholas recently posted in Europe guys on Grindr are using diamond and roses to announce they are available to anybody who wants to pay. I guess based on some of the posts on here that's common this side of the pond.

Unless they are obnoxious or you have suspicions of trafficking, wouldn't it be better just to block them? If it's done in a personable manner, and they don't lead you on from the beginning to think they are actually interested in you, what does it really matter to us? Having them on Grindr may help fellow hirerers find someone with lower fees than the 'official' sites. I'd prefer Grindr put resources on their Bot/Fake Profile Problems (which they don't seem to be doing).

I should say that I get hit up by both escorts and gen equally. There are other venues instead of this cloak and dagger method that just leaves the regular users annoyed. I should also say if the guy advertises their services gen/escort and just leaves me alone I don't do anything. Also I recently got hit up by a gen but because he was so damn ugly I just felt sorry for him and said no and wished him a nice day. So there are exeptions. :-)

With the shutdown of sites (e.g. backpage and craigslist) options have become rather scarce for guys moonlighting. As such, I am a lot more forgiving. I block when I am not interested - only report if egregious - and I cannot recall ever reporting a guy looking for gen for this reason.
