Ken Ryker was GFP, then later said he was gay.

several providers I've met.......;)

Maybe you turned them. :D

Ass is better than pussy...?

Of course it’s more than that

I believe it can be way more complex than one porn interview question can do justice to. I have my own theories based on my experience mostly, although I'd like to hear more about azdr0710 magic touch with providers for confirmation.

Well I have met a few men who previously said they were bisexual, but now admit they were gay all along (kind of like Sir Elton John, whom I've not met). But I did once meet a man who said he's paid for sex with both men and women, so true bisexuality must exist. I can't imagine someone would pay for sex if the sex didn't arouse him.

Of course bisexuality exists. You can collect all the anecdotal data you want to probe bisexuals are liars, but you would be wrong. I would even say we should wake up to a raising post-gay/bi/straight era. The new generations are moving away from those labels. I think killing gayness and their correlates is perhaps the biggest achievement of the sex and gay liberation movements.

My friend "Bob" was convinced that (in his words) "bisexuality is the stop before Gayville." Every time this topic came up I told him about my friend "Steve" who came out as bisexual after his divorce (not due to his sexuality but due to his ex-wife's mental illness and mistreatment of their kids). "Steve" is equally attracted to men and women and would date both men and women. Turns out, "Bob" also knows "Steve" but not well enough to have discussed "Steve's" sexuality. I asked "Steve" if he was willing to discuss his sexuality with "Bob" and me and he agreed. It was a mind-opening experience for "Bob."

PS: "Steve" was always monogamous with the people he dated. He explained that he would not cheat on a woman with a woman nor would he cheat on a man with a man, so why would he cheat on a woman with a man or vice versa.

Given that publicly stated orientations are sometimes chosen for image/career reasons -- and for that matter the existence of studios that portray all or most of their models as straight/gay-for-pay/etc. as part of their own image/niche -- this seems like a hard topic to sort out.

Nobody seems to trust the stated orientations on RM very much (at least not as direct indicators of the provider's actual orientation); the same principle applies in porn, doesn't it?

I know a fair number of "gay" men who are actually bi but don't care to deal with the dynamics of a male-female relationship,so they go with guys. Some of them hook up with a woman once in a blue moon, some don't bother.

I can tell you one thing, I know a good number of bisexual men who in their younger days were more into women. As they got older they got more into guys. Well, except one, who still favors women.

I'm not sure why that is, but I found it interesting.

For some of them they probably initially thought they were totally straight. Then the idea of wanting to have sex with guys occurred -so they figured they were bisexual. Then they realized that guys were the only sexual partner they really wanted.

Let's be careful here, please. I have no sexual attraction to women at all. (Of course my libido is so low at the moment prob due to medical problems, medications, and some depression that my attraction to men ain't too high at the moment either. But still I have historical evidence towards my attraction to guys) I can only go by an "n" of "1" (myself), but if there's "me" I hope I can extrapolate that legitimately to say there are others like "me."

Moving away from those labels doesn't mean people can't still be attracted solely to one or to the other, if that happens to be the case for them.

Every so often some crazy person, who has apparently forgotten the history of straight people claiming that every other orientation is not real, is a psychiatric disorder, etc etc., will post saying "bisexuality doesn't exist" or "being completely gay doesn't exist." But I think latbear's comment was just about the labels, not about what anyone actually experiences.

Personally, I think labels like "gay" have their uses, some of which are important. But they also have their drawbacks. I think it's important to acknowledge that and be open to the benefits and drawbacks of other categorizing schemes, too. No categorizing scheme changes what is true for you, or for me, or for anyone else!

Wow, only one person could think of someone who was GFP, then gay?

I think the thing is it's not "acting" gay for pay; it's gay for pay. The more you get into it the more successful you are. After a couple years it becomes your natural condition, even if it wasn't your original preference.

All bets off with cocaine though. I know several otherwise "straight" guys who become the world's most vigorous bottoms on coke.

There is a documentary available on Amazon Prime consisting of interviews with "gay for pay" porn actors, many from Sean Cody. I thought it was very well done. The guys interviewed covered a wide spectrum of attitudes towards what they were doing. Most were self-aware and insightful. I was particularly impressed with Curtis (*see disclaimer below) who was a central character. Well worth watching. (The interviews are often accompanied by R-rated clips from films they have done.)

*I don't know how to access my viewing history on Prime, so I can't supply the title (it may even have had "Gay for Pay" in it), nor am I 100% sure that it was Curtis who was the central SC actor.

(Added 1/5/19: @Rangar, in post #22 below, identified the film as "I'm a Porn Star." Many thanks!)

I don't know. I'm not saying some might not get to like gay sex. I mean wasn't there a scene in "Scenes From The Class Struggle in Beverly Hills" where a straight guy loses a bet and has to let another guy suck him off? When he's asked how it was, doesn't he say something like "one mouth is like another."

But in general I think this plays into too many gay fantasies about getting the straight guy and turning him gay.

Curtis always appears to be totally into what is happening with his partner for the time, willing to do and be done!:p
