I'm frequently making connections thru Doha & Hamad has become one of my favorite airports.....the Director of Airport Security is a member of the royal fam......he seems to almost always notice whenever my name is on an arriving flite manifest....he usually seeks me out after deplaning & provides elevated comfort & royal treatment which makes those transit times much more enjoyable....I remember my first encounter with the guy as being both awkward & surprising....it never takes long though to get comfortable with the privileges that having friends in high places can provide.....(not implying anything sexual here, guys).

@wklucas, Qatar is one of only two international airlines that fly from Canberra, so I'm tempted to use them. Their fares to NYC are competitive with the usual trans-Pacific airlines (although they don't have premium economy). Doubt I'd use them to fly to LAX, though!
