I got a call this morning from Heather Ian‘s mother

Ian is the dwarf child you guys supported during my fundraising campaign to help Ian get accessible equipment to go outside.

I’m a part of a program called Angels in America it was Ian’s lifeline when he needed supplies friendship visits etc.

Many of you helped raise a lot of money to help him get accessible needs met .

Ian & his family were great friends and I consider them apart of my family.

He was my angel he was my hero.

Ian died this morning in his sleep. I’m crushed and heartbroken & very sad...and yet today I choose the miracle

Ian was 12 years old. He died peacefully after a wonderful day out doing what he does play like there is no tomorrow.

To say that I am crushed is beyond interpretation I am mortally wounded it’s a dark day. I am in flight to be with his family now. I just wanted to say thank you for all the support you gave this kid. You made his life better you saved him from a lonely isolated life. Be proud today be grateful be kind.

“I won't forget one of the proudest days of my life. The day I was saved by the idea that I could help just one child...... Little did I know how much he was helping me... To this day I fail to comprehend the impact this little soul has made upon my life.”

Through all the bullshit that is going on in the world right now, every now and again someone like you comes along to remind us all of the humanity and the decency of the human spirit, and for a brief moment we realize that there is hope, and there is much more each of us can do.

Wishing Ian a safe passage, and wishing you all the good that is in this world...God bless

David I know you will be offering to the family all you can in emotional support and no doubt support in other more tangible ways. Is there any way we here at the forum can help as well. Is there a charity to which a contribution would be a comfort to the family. I believe Ian lived in Rhode Island and having lived there myself, I know there are many worthy organizations, but if you could suggest one or two, I am sure there are many here who would like to tip the hat to Ian as he walks past us into his new being. This life may have ended but good works in his name will keep him alive in spirit.

David - what a wonderful organization in which you are an active member. You've not only enriched Ian's short time here on earth but you've most likely extended it as well by bringing him joy and happiness in so many ways. You are a good soul and I truly believe that you will be rewarded for the kindness you've bestowed on this young boy. My sincere sympathy to you and Ian's family.

David, I'm in awe, this is all so inspiring. I can see why this guy from NY who I met last year loves you.
