Daddy provided a great service to all of us thru his dedication and perseverance in maintaining these sites. I’m sure it was often a thankless job and there were probably times when he felt like chucking it all. We are all beneficiaries of the fact that he worked tirelessly to keep these sites going for as long as he possibly could. I hope that his work here gave him a sense of satisfaction and comfort as he struggled with his health issues and the challenges of coping with the pandemic.

Well done Daddy! I will forever be indebted to you for your service to the community of users of these sites.

I met Daddy on several occasions. The first time was in Seattle, way back when, and I took him out to dinner. Afterwards he gave my partner and me a tour of Seattle's old street hustle spots. He seemed to know them well, throwing in anecdotes about a guy here and there. We met later at several of the Palm Springs Weekends. I find that his death shakes me more than I had expected as it seems another era is gone.

I'd be happy to organize the 2022 gathering. I'd helped out @ArVaGuy a few years ago so can take the reins having benefited from that experience. @ArVaGuy and those before him did a great job setting up the template, and I think overall the series of events works really well.

I think the suggestion of switching the brunch from Sunday to Saturday is an interesting one. That might give people more flexibility in planning their weekend, and an opportunities to schedule follow-ups with new acquaintances given they'll be meeting earlier in the weekend.

Though the DC gathering coincides with MAL, and MAL is loads of fun, there may be some who are less interested in MAL but still interested in meeting up. I think the past events, with a Friday happy hour meetup at MAL and the brunch in the gayborhood provided something for everybody. The year I got involved we added a happy hour at a gay sports bar to further widen the appeal, and I thought that was fun even though I'm not particularly sporty.

In any event, I already booked my flights and hotel so I can say with certainty that there will be a 2022 DC gathering, and I'm happy to commit to organizing it so people can be confident in making plans. Flights were pretty cheap when I booked, and they still might be. As @Keenan mentions the MAL Hyatt is long sold out, but there are some nearby hotels participating that are offering MAL rates. You don't need to register for MAL to book at the participating hotels, and you can also attend much of MAL a la carte if you just want to try it out for size.

If you're interested in attending, please send me a message through here or directly through my email at nate@natebeck.us so I can contact you as the date approaches (your info will be kept in confidence).

This is very sad news. I will always remember Daddy/Guy fondly having first met him at a DC Forum event as well as Palm Springs and having lunch in Las Vegas several times. Some of us first knew him as Daddy, others as Guy Fawkes on this forum. A few even knew him by his name IRL. He certainly was no wall flower with his boisterous personality.

Guy was a mentor to many an escort and client offering sage advice about this business and hobby. He kept this site alive and vibrant from its early days under Hooboy and his own subsequent management. How he achieved this for so long under so many adversities we will never comprehend. He did all this out of his sense of community and for all the members of this site, working guys and hobbyist.

Certainly there were conflicts with individuals and groups of members from time to time. Administering this site was no easy task. Guy was accused of many unkind motives, some may have been true, most were certainly not true. Critics always have a better idea yet never step up to provide assistance.

Through all of the many controversies and fighting Guy continued to maintain this forum despite criticism. Guy maintained a true libertarian perspective of allowing many here a tremendous amount of leeway. When situations or behaviors became intolerable for him and the integrity of the community he took action and moved on.

I would never have had his level of tolerance for many of these issues and would have shut it all down had it been my prerogative. Guy had a live and let live attitude that many should emulate. This forum allowed me to become a better client. It gave me an appreciation for the men who choose escorting. And it allowed me to build friendships with several clients and escorts that will always be a part of my life. Daddy/Guy made all that possible and I’m grateful to him for his dedication and perseverance.

    RIP Daddy/Guy.

I am so sorry to hear this incredibly sad news, we have all been well served by Daddy's sites and the sense of community the Forum has engendered. May he rest in peace. My condolences to those who knew him and to those who have worked with him on this enterprise. I join others to thank you, @Cooper, for your tireless work over recent weeks to help him and to keep us informed.

At the first Palm Springs Weekend dinner, we made a joyful toast to Hooboy. Little did we imagine that a month later he would suddenly be gone. We were lucky that Daddy picked up the torch and kept the Message Board going for sixteen more years. This year's toast will be a lot different, as we mourn his loss and wonder where we all go from here.

    And you're not alone!

Before RM reviews and ability to contact other clients Hooboy and daddy's were the only reliable source of information. Many escorts owe him SO much!

He's been a helpful voice to clients, escorts and escorts!

Not sure the details but some of the Viggo Sorenson/Niko Vangelis/Paul Cassidy guys are coming to Mexico next week. Not sure if it's their shoot, a Bel Ami shoot or what. After 2 weeks in Mexico they would be allowed into the US.

I am very sorry to report that Guy Fawkes/daddy passed away this evening of heart failure. For over a month he remained in the hospital unconscious and on life support.

His passing touches us all. He was a man who dedicated his life to providing a Forum where men would feel free and comfortable talking about all sorts of topics that covered our life style.

Having worked with daddy since he started this site I got to see first hand how much he cared about people and viewed us as his family. He was a very bright man with a love for life. He will be missed.

    RIP Daddy/Guy Fawkes

    With sympathy,
    Cooper

I too am eager to return to Montreal but fear I'll be too old by the time Americans are allowed to return and the clubs are safe again. Is there an age when one becomes too old for the Campus and Stock Bar? ❓ ?‍♂️ Mentally and physically I'm primed to go but I do have lots of gray hair.
