Given how long the parade is in NYC and SF, I prefer to walk the length of it rather than watch a few miles of church-going gays. Let's face it, I'm there for the shirtless guys.

I still remember 20 years ago there was a hot shirtless guy walking along the march route with a sign FREE HUGS and omg... that was an amazing hug!!!

  2. My thoughts on this has evolved through the years as I have gotten older (and have a higher income.)

Back in my 20s, I did triathlons a lot and preferred to get a massage a day or two after competition as a treat for myself. My salary was not 6 figures yet and living in NYC, I definitely budgeted (I could only afford massages that cost less than $120.) Out of all the massages I had back then, only one masseur tried the upsell and I declined since I knew I can finish by using my own hand within 20-30 seconds. Also back then, I was completely happy with just the massage alone, with or without the HE.

Nowadays I'm older and live more comfortably. If I really liked the masseur's technique and he gave me extras... then I'd generously tip. I'll admit though this rarely happens to me since I can normally finish within 2-3 mins at the end of the massage from the masseur's hand alone.

When I arrived at the theater May 15 I was told the performance had been canceled. No reason given and I received a full refund. So now I think I’ll wait a bit before buying another ticket.

Have you seen it yet? I've seen it 3 times and each time I watch it I always learn something new.

  4. If you're not picky, you can try hoteltonight app on the day of or day before. Most nyc hotels on there give heavy discounts as they try to unload any available inventory that day.

  5. Never did the grandstand experience but looks fun!

Then again, I've never seen the entire pride march in one sitting. I think the entire march is 6 hours long?

Personally it depends what you like. If you just want to watch with a guaranteed seat w/shade, then this is a good idea. I don't go to pride march anymore but in the past, my friends and I would watch it, take a break, watch it again, grab lunch, watch it again, etc. What's fun is interacting with the other guys marching as some give out all these free rainbow stuff, etc.

  6. A friend owns a house in FI and what he does is invite different groups of friends to spend a week there. He would only rent it out to people he knows/trusts. He's not a party person and his house is a 15 min walk from the pier so considered far but so beautiful.

I'm a morning person so I'm awake when the sun rises and I always go for a 30-40 min walk/jog along the beach and it's almost always empty. So beautiful and peaceful.

Now that fiber optic internet is available in FI Pines, I know more people are working remote there. Before pandemic, internet wifi sucked and most people just were there Friday afternoon until Monday morning.

  7. I live in NYC and I see the smokers all outside their office buildings during the day (yes more people are working remote nowadays but all my finance friends are working onsite or hybrid.)

Ever since weed became legal, I smell weed everywhere too. I walk around Manhattan every day and I see at least one person smoking/vaping. All races by the way.

Being quite allergic to big crowds (especially at the beach) for my first visit to Fire Island I chose one gorgeous week day of early September 2019 to wake up early, drive one hour from Brooklyn to Sayville, take the ferry with a little bunch of gay early birds and enjoying a beautiful day at the Pines. Breakfast at Canteen, little walk through the village and then a few hours at the beautiful, almost empty beach. I repeated it another couple of times during the following weeks and then last year (I skipped 2020 and 2021..), and I plan to do the same this year. Very very enjoyable.

I am definitely too old for parties and loud music.

I think Fire Island is really what you make of it. If you go with some close friends, you can host your own parties and do what you wish. I've noticed as I've gotten older that the best parties are the private ones held in people's houses that you get invited to during the week.

On May 17, Lee’s brother, Timothy “Oliver” Lee, created a GoFundMe asking the public for contributions to support the family’s legal fees.

GoFundMe? They're wealthy, they should pay it themselves...

I know what you mean but at the same time they're free to open a gofundme page.

My beau and I will be going to Cherry Grove in early July, presumably a busy time. Never been. Does one need to buy ferry tickets in advance, or risk having the ferry sell out? Also, how does one get from the LIRR station to the ferry dock? Are there plenty of taxis?

I'm guessing you mean 4th of July weekend? That's a busy weekend because of the Invasion.

Definitely bring some cash. The minivans taking you from Sayville LIRR station to the ferry dock mainly take cash ($5 but who knows it might be $6 due to inflation).

Enjoy Fire Island!!! Between Pines and Cherry Grove, I prefer the nightlife at Cherry Grove.

  11. Both of you are not working for the same company anymore and if you had good rapport, why not? I like Coolwave35's approach. As for me, I hooked up with a coworker 2-3 years before we were coworkers. We weren't in the same team but we were in the same department. Heck I didn't even know his last name and we just recognized each other at the holiday party. He left the company back in 2020 and I caught up with him a few weeks ago as friends.

if you’re referencing online providers in Brazil - the going rate is about 300 reais per hour/$60 usd

Brazil is a big country and there are more people with money than you think - especially in São Paulo.  The “average” Brazilian would not be able to afford $60 per hour tho as you mention

This is out of context. I was replying to SirBillyBob's comment earlier that he has now deleted.

I agree with you that there are wealthy individuals in Brazil especially in its financial center who can afford it. In my comment I meant USD$300, not 300 BRL.

I think good ones are making way more. $300/hr x 1 client/day x 1 hour/day = $100k and I think that's conservative. I don't necessarily think one client a day is the thing, but the good ones have overnights and trips and all that stuff. My math would be $250k-$400k/year if done well and they keep their game on point. That's cool in my book.

I think a good number have instead opened an onlyfans account and if the pay there is the same or more than being a provider, then I can see them doidng that full time instead.
