Rates are advertised on Rent Masseur. Also, there was a time when rates were allowed to be shown on Rentmen. So the providers rates have only gone up since then and they all know they can increase their rates reasonably with time. In addition to that, some providers talk to, and collaborate with each other.
Providers are not setting their rates “blindly,” which is why rates are generally about the same with vary little variation no matter which guy you hire. They know how much they can charge.

For any Black American masseurs or providers reading this, take it from me: do not charge less than white providers are charging. If you are in a territory where most of the hiring demographics are racists, (which if they would try to pay you less because you are melanated, then they very much are) you aren’t going to book much in that location to make it worthwhile anyway no matter how much you lower your rates, so it’s a bad business decision to lower your rates. You are better off moving to a territory where men hire hot men regardless of race. ALSO, there is an abundance of men who will pay you top dollar BECAUSE you are hot AND Black! Those are the clients you want! Work smarter not harder! I have never accepted less than I deserved, and neither should you. Do not sell yourself short (pun intended)
This is my last contribution to this forum but I wanted to leave this behind.

RandyVue reacted to rn901 in Recession Pricing
It has been my experience that the state of public health and the response to pandemics have greater effect on business than inflation. Fear of catching the omicron virus last winter or something as painful as monkey pox were more of a deterrent in hiring providers than paying an extra couple bucks for a gallon of gas. When public health is good, business tends to be good.

RandyVue reacted to Jamie21 in Are Rates Raising?
If he’s too expensive for you you’re shopping in the wrong shop. Client : “That’s expensive, my regular guy charges £100” Me : “go to your regular guy then”.
No one is forcing you to pay the rate that your prospective provider is asking. It’s not like he’s the only guy in town and you’re buying a life essential is it? You can decide to go elsewhere or just not buy. However the reason he does what he does for payment is precisely because he has qualities and skills you can’t get elsewhere. So pay his rate if you value what he does.
Some people seem to think doing this kind of work is easy. Almost like it’s so easy and fun it should be done for free. Those people should try it for a while and see just how ‘easy’ it is. Set yourself up in the business, charge the kind of rates you think you’d be happy to pay. See how long you last….

RandyVue reacted to Jamie21 in How do you handle it when a client owes you, but refuses to reimburse?
The word ‘probably’ in his message is the clue. Phrases and words like ‘Probably’, ‘Looking to’, ‘Considering’ and ‘Will definitely’ all actually mean ‘I have no intention of proceeding but I am just enjoying the thought of it’.

RandyVue got a reaction from Exploritor in $250 for a massage is not a massage
In Los Angeles $200 for a massage is the norm especially if you like massages with special attention. I think that’s a fair rate especially when you consider Los Angeles rent is extremely expensive.

RandyVue got a reaction from Marc in Calif in Asian race play
I never said it was new. Im a former escort myself, so I know first hand that it isn’t new. I’ve had a handful of white clients ask me to participate in “race play”. The answer was “absolutely not”. Race play is racism. It’s degrading someone or being degraded based on race, which is where I draw the line.

Interesting. I think i like them coming to me because i hate getting dressed, hopping into the car and driving home right after a massage. I like to just hop in the shower and relax in bed immediately after.

Having a fetish is one thing, having your fetish be demeaning someone based in their race is an entirely different conversation.

RandyVue got a reaction from Mike Calster in Masseurs with OnlyFans
I disagree. You are making an assumption. I could totally understand why a masseur would have an OnlyFans account, especially in times like these where they may be seeing less clients in person. Also It would be a great way to supplement your massage income and connect with those who can’t see them in person. It makes perfect sense. If I were still a masseur, i would absolutely have an OnlyFans.

RandyVue reacted to Storm4U in Least Favorite City to Work
My least favorite is a tie between San Diego & Los Angeles. Its a challenge to pick a favorite and I dont travel outside of California anymore, but I’ve loved working the other cities that I’ve visited.

While I 90% agree with you, the “rent” companies - rentmasseur in particular- make it difficult. They make it look like you’re in a city up to 30 days before you’re there.
You’d be surprised how much time I spend typing “hey - I’m not in [city]. My ad says I’ll be in [city] on [dates]. Would you like to meet when I’m there?”
and because nearly all those clients want to meet an hour of messaging, that is business you can’t recoup.
that said, for clients that plan ahead it is necessary and favorable to post dates.

RandyVue got a reaction from Vulgarii in Is Traveling Worth It?
Im curious about masseurs and providers who travel. I would think that after paying for flights, hotel, transportation to and from hotel, etc that it would be difficult to make a trip financially beneficial and worthwhile. Am I wrong to assume that?
